By resting naturally in the unaltered state, one attains the Dharmakaya in this life or in the bardo. It is understood in the Ati Yoga non-dual tantra. Furthermore, by clearly observing the mandala of the sun with the physical eye, and by practicing with bindus and subtle bindus, the four visions are brought to completion. The blazing mass of light for six months is the profound and unique characteristic of Dzogchen, which I have understood. If one does not attain liberation in this life through meditation, then by means of the shortcut of transference of consciousness, one travels to the pure lands. If the transference of consciousness does not succeed, then one severs the deluded appearances of the bardo of dharmata. Even if one does not fall under the power of delusion during the day, in order to prevent sleep from interrupting virtuous activities, such as guarding the clear light and training in dreams, I have understood the intention of all the profound teachings. All outer and inner phenomena, including the environment and its inhabitants, samsara and nirvana, are primordially pure and immutable Dharmadhatu. Within that state, the unceasing power of interdependent origination, the infallible cause and effect, and the non-ceasing union. The two truths, conventional truth and ultimate truth, are indivisible and united, which I have understood. The co-emergent nature of mind is the Dharmakaya, the co-emergent appearance is the light of the Dharmakaya, the essence is emptiness, the immutable Dharmakaya, the nature is clarity, the spontaneously accomplished Sambhogakaya, the unceasing appearance of anything is the Nirmanakaya, I have understood the ultimate meaning of the sutras and tantras. One's own body is primordially the body of the Yidam deity, the three channels, bindus, and winds are the assembly of heroes and dakinis, I have understood the unique characteristics of the unsurpassed mantra. Transforming wisdom, the nature of mind is primordially pure, the pure Vajra chain of space and wisdom, I have understood the unique characteristics of the Great Perfection. Thus, focusing single-pointedly on the meaning that has been attained, examining it with the discriminating wisdom of individual awareness, the dharmas are unmixed like the seams in yak hair, I have vaguely understood, this is the meaning of hearing. The third chapter of thinking about the meaning of hearing. Even if one understands in this way, if one does not put it into practice, it is like a sick person dying while holding the king of medicine, or dying of thirst at the seashore. The way to grasp the meaning of hearing through meditation is, knowing that the happiness of gods and humans has no essence, I have not practiced Dharma for the sake of high status. By belittling the Lesser Vehicle for my own sake alone, I have not practiced Dharma in order to attain the Shravaka and Pratyekabuddha states. Having placed my hope in the refuge of the Three Jewels, having generated the mind of supreme Bodhicitta, practicing the Paramitas

What else can be done? Furthermore, the common practice of the Geshes is: In the early part of life, one focuses solely on listening and contemplating, thereby setting boundaries; in the middle part of life, one maintains one's own stance while engaging in single-pointed practice; in the later part of life, one engages in activities that benefit others. However, the practice of the unequaled Dagpo Lhaje is to combine listening, contemplation, and meditation, saying that it is the unerring Dharma. My father also said from the monastery's mouth, "Just as a fine steed consumes its harness, one should simultaneously chew, swallow, and ingest." I have followed the tradition of the Kagyu lineage. I and all sentient beings desire happiness. The cause of happiness comes from enjoyment. The cause of enjoyment is generosity. Therefore, I have established a connection with generosity. That is, material things, fearlessness, Dharma, and love. Material generosity is spoken to householders, but the Buddha did not speak much about it to renunciates. Whatever a renunciate enjoys is communal property. Since communal property cannot be used by non-renunciates, if it is given as generosity to those who cannot use it, it is like giving poisoned food to the hungry. It may seem beneficial in the short term, but it is harmful in the long run. Therefore, in India and Tibet, the virtuous friends of the former Kadampa tradition would not give all the leftovers of rice and other things from the Sangha to beggars. Instead, they would dig a hole and bury them, fearing that birds and dogs would drink from them. Having heard such stories, I do not give horses to ride or pack animals to carry loads to beggars and the blind. I do not give food to eat, but I give luggage to carry. I give clothes to wear and cushions to sit on. Even if I hear them shouting unpleasant words, I pretend not to hear them. That is the meaning of it. However, if the poor, hungry, thirsty, and helpless beg repeatedly, and you do not give them even a little, causing them to despair, it is said that a Bodhisattva will fall. Therefore, to the poor, I distribute appropriate food and drink to those around me, saying, "Let them have it." Offering to the Lama, Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, Yidams, Dakinis, Dharma Protectors, and so on, and serving the Sangha, although there are superior and inferior fields, in essence, they are all generosity because they are the same. When offering to the Lama and giving to monasteries, do not be stingy with what you have. If you give with partiality, it is said that it is not pure generosity.
