Moreover, descending by entering into samadhi in an unconventional manner, surpassing each level one by one. Similarly, in a stainless manner, from the first dhyana to the third, then to the sphere of infinite space, and then entering into samadhi in the sphere of nothingness, ascending one by one in a conventional manner. Likewise, in a stainless manner, from the sphere of nothingness to the first dhyana, also descending by entering into samadhi in an unconventional manner, surpassing each level one by one. Thus, in both contaminated and uncontaminated states, purifying by ascending in a conventional manner, surpassing each level one by one in the same category, and descending in an unconventional manner, surpassing each level one by one in the same category. Secondly, the actual practice is when, from the contaminated first dhyana to the uncontaminated third dhyana, then to the contaminated sphere of infinite space, and then to the uncontaminated sphere of nothingness, entering into samadhi in the third dissimilar category, surpassing each level one by one in a conventional manner. Similarly, from the contaminated sphere of nothingness to the uncontaminated first dhyana, progressing to the third dissimilar category, surpassing each level one by one in an unconventional manner. Likewise, from the uncontaminated first dhyana to the contaminated sphere of nothingness, progressing to the third dissimilar category, surpassing each level one by one in a conventional manner. Similarly, from the uncontaminated sphere of nothingness to the contaminated first dhyana, progressing to the third dissimilar category, surpassing each level one by one in an unconventional manner. Thus, alternatingly entering into samadhi in the third dissimilar category, whether contaminated or uncontaminated, at that time, the actual practice of transgressive samadhi is accomplished. Similarly, the transgression from the contaminated and uncontaminated second dhyana to the peak of existence, and from the peak of existence to the second level, surpassing each level one by one in a conventional and unconventional manner, progressing to the third dissimilar category, and so forth, should also be understood in conjunction. As previously stated, because it is extremely distant, samadhi is not entered in the fourth dhyana. Thirdly, the basis is that such a transgression is possible only for intelligent men and women of the three continents, and

A person who has attained insight, although able to master concentration due to sharp faculties, is not without afflictions. One who is liberated by time, although without afflictions, is not able to master concentration due to dull faculties. Only the immovable Arhat who is liberated without association with time (liberated from both aspects) can generate it, because he is a non-learner, and therefore without afflictions; and because his faculties are sharp and he has attained actual meditative stabilization, he is able to master concentration. The transcendence of the Buddhas is also considered to be in this manner, according to the proponents of the division. However, according to the extensively vast Abhidharma, in the Ornament for Clear Realization, it says: 'In the nine meditative absorptions that include cessation, after going back and forth in two ways, the consciousness belonging to the desire realm is taken as the boundary of non-meditative stabilization (concentration is both with and without outflows). One and two, three, four, and five, surpassing six, seven, and eight to cessation, between cessations they go dissimilarly, that is the meditative absorption of transcendence.' Thus, another way is explained. As for the support of the body, the meditative stabilizations of the form and formless realms are those that have the support of their own ground's body and the body of the lower ground. The meditative absorption of the peak of existence is manifested in the peak of existence and also down to the desire realm (because it is the ninth existence). From the first meditative absorption, the first manifests in its own ground and the support of the lower desire realm, because it is connected between the second ground. (Therefore, the fruit with outflows necessarily depends on its own ground and the cause of the lower ground.) Then, why does the meditative absorption of the lower ground not manifest in the support of those born in the higher ground? Because wherever one is born, there is excellence in one's own ground, so there is no need for the inferiority of the lower ground. Having thus generally stated, what is particularly distinguished is that the non-returner born in the peak of existence, the noble one, manifests the concentration of the sphere of nothingness, which is without outflows, and exhausts the outflows of the peak of existence, thereby attaining Arhatship. Why? Because there is no path without outflows in the peak of existence itself, and the sphere of nothingness without outflows is also close to the peak of existence. Starting from the second meditative stabilization, and so on.
