Because that is excellent. Discerning the specific words is understanding the speech that has reasons explained by the dharmas, because it is a word with meaningful reasons, therefore it is discerning the specific words. Fourth, the eloquence of fearlessness is understanding the contradictions and connections of things, the reasoning related to meaning; and knowing without obstruction the unobstructed manifestation of expression; and knowing without obstruction the mastery of the path due to not forgetting the samadhi of calm abiding and insight due to one's own attention. The first is being skilled in eloquent speech, the second is being skilled in one's own attention. This is both eloquence and individual knowledge, therefore it is individual eloquence. Or, eloquence is said to be liberated from knowledge, because of knowing it, it is discerning individual eloquence. (All four of these focus on both name and meaning, and on both co-emergent and subsequent, and speaking is only obtained after that, as the prince said.) The object of individual eloquence is language and the path, being in control of language and manifestation is focusing on language, being in control of the path is focusing on the path. (The path is also either contaminated or uncontaminated, otherwise, it would not pervade all grounds, so it is believed.) Its essence is nine kinds of wisdom, (language is the first two truths, therefore,) focusing on language is the nature of conventional truth and suffering, the origin of suffering, Dharma-knowing, subsequent-knowing, exhaustion-knowing, non-arising-knowing (seven kinds of wisdom), and focusing on the path is the nature of the path and Dharma-knowing, subsequent-knowing, exhaustion-knowing, non-arising-knowing, and other-minds-knowing (six kinds of wisdom), because it does not focus on the unconditioned, therefore except for cessation-knowing. If because of focusing on language and the path, how can one know suffering and the origin of suffering? Because language itself is contaminated, therefore it is suffering, because it produces the future, therefore it is also the origin of suffering, therefore when knowing it, it is established as knowing them. The ground is in all places from the desire realm to the peak of existence, as appropriate, because of focusing on either language or the path. Discerning the specific meanings, if it is thought that meaning is understanding all dharmas, then there is no dharma that does not become the object of the ten kinds of wisdom.

Is it through the wisdom of the four analytical knowledges, or through the wisdom of nirvana? If it is considered the wisdom of nirvana, then the realization of cessation is the nature of the six other than the four, which are suffering, origin, path, and consciousness. Correctly recognizing the meaning individually, this exists in all realms. Other than these, the two, dharma and definitive words, each correctly recognized, are of the nature of conventional wisdom, because they are directed towards the collection of terms and so on that are explained, and towards language, respectively. Among these, the correct individual recognition of dharma exists in the desire realm and the four dhyanas (i.e., the five realms), and beyond that, there is no collection of expressive terms, sentences, or letters. Pure, that is, the correct individual recognition of definitive words exists only in the desire realm and the first dhyana, because the sutra says, "Speak after examining and analyzing," so language is the nature of being aroused by conceptual thought, but there is no conceptual thought beyond the second dhyana. These individual correct recognitions, obtaining one obtains all, without lacking any one, they cannot be obtained (because they are the fruit of the same path). The previous causes of these are that some consider that they can be obtained by mastering arithmetic, the words of the Buddha, grammar, and logic in order. The Vaibhashikas consider that the cause of obtaining all of these is mastering the various names, entities, definitions, and classifications of the Buddha's words. (The commentary on the Abhidharmakosha also says: Names are the proximate cause of the correct individual recognition of dharma. Similarly, by analogy, characteristics are the correct individual recognition of meaning, definitions are the correct individual recognition of definitive words, and detailed classifications are the correct individual recognition of eloquence, which is consistent with the scriptures.) The order is also to follow words and letters, and through understanding the meaning, to individually recognize the meaning from the dharma, and from the meaning to generate the knowledge of the various names of the name, that is, the definitive words, and from these to generate the unobstructed eloquence of wisdom liberation, therefore it is explained in this way. (The order of these is to follow words and letters to understand the meaning, and the terminology of one, two, etc., of the meaning, and those
