It is the only supreme one, because it does not arise if the afflictions have not ceased, and it arises only from the uncontaminated path of non-interruption, so there is no confusion about the cause, and here it is beneficial because it is free from afflictions, and in the future it leads to the enjoyment of desirable fruits forever because it is free from the burden of suffering. The first two miracles are walking in the sky with the mantra called "Gandhari" and knowing the minds of others with the mantra called "Discernment," and also because the power of medicine and non-humans can also change in that way, so there is no confusion about the uncontaminated cause, and merely knowing the wishes and thoughts of those to be tamed does not actually give benefit and desirable fruits, so it is not supreme. So, what is meant by "miraculous power"? The Vaibhashikas believe that miraculous power is samadhi, because it brings about attainment and accomplishment. What is attained and accomplished? From that miraculous samadhi, the attainment of mastery over manifestation and movement in the realm is accomplished. Among these, there are three ways of moving by miraculous power: moving quickly with the body gradually like a bird is called body movement; reaching quickly by making a long distance seem short through aspiration is called arising from aspiration; and reaching there merely by thinking with the mind is called mind-speed. Among these, because it is as fast as the mind, the movement of mind-speed is possessed only by the teacher, the Buddha. (Because it reaches there merely by thinking in the mind, it is mind-speed.) Because even a very distant place can be reached merely by making a vow. For that very reason, it is said in the Sutra Extracted from the Four: "The Buddha-fields of the Buddhas are inconceivable." The other two movements, although not explicitly stated to be possessed by the teacher, are established as being possessed. Others besides the Buddha, such as Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas, have the movement of body movement and also the movement arising from aspiration. What is manifestation like? Manifestation is of two types: manifestation of form based on desire. First, among the two, let us first say the first (by those with a basis of desire). Manifestation belonging to the desire realm is the manifestation of the four external sense objects: form, smell, taste, and touch.
