Stabilized by the two paths of the untranscended and the transcended, the fruit obtained from the practice of non-regression will not regress. If so, then the first fruit will regress because it is not stabilized by the worldly path. If asked, this reasoning is stated for the sake of the kind, not for the sake of the fruit, so there is no fault. It is impossible to obtain the fruit simultaneously with the paths of the transcended and the untranscended. Stabilizing with two kinds of paths refers to the warmth, etc., of this life and the abandonment path of the next life? Or is it also possible to cultivate both from this itself? So it is said. When practicing, the (kind) of certainty (of the kind) is also because it is stabilized by the two paths of the worldly and the transcendental. However, those who have the nature of regression will later regress due to thinking about death and subduing the senses, etc. The first fruit, the stream-enterer, will also not regress, because it is completely separated by abandoning the seen-to-be-abandoned, and that is also rooted in the view of the aggregation, and that is also without a basis. The basis here refers to the object, because it is clinging to the truth and grasping the selflessness as self. If one directly knows the selflessness, then it is impossible to grasp it as self. The dharmas to be abandoned by cultivation, such as desire, etc., are rooted because they are aimed at the truth of form, etc., so even if they are abandoned, it is possible to arise again, so it is possible to regress from the later fruits. Furthermore, if afflictions arise due to the loss of mindfulness for noble ones who are certainly non-conceptual, then it is not so for those who are certainly conceptual, just as grasping a rope as a rope will not give rise to grasping it as a snake. For noble ones who are certainly non-conceptual, the seen-to-be-abandoned will also not arise, because those are of the nature of certain conceptualization, so the Vaibhashikas assert. (The Vaibhashika kind is, it is the kind of that, it is not when the kind is determined there, that is, it regresses from that kind and becomes another, there is, and initially determining from that kind will not become another. The first five Arhats all think that they can regress from the three intermediate fruits. The Sutrantikas think that the two intermediate fruits obtained by the worldly path will regress, but those obtained by the transcendental path will not regress.) The Sutrantikas and others
