Therefore, what corresponds to the part of ascertainment are the four aspects such as warmth. Why are they called corresponding to the part of ascertainment? Because although all that is to be abandoned by seeing is abandoned, doubt is eliminated by representing the main part of what is to be abandoned, therefore it is the determination of truth. For the truths, from "This is suffering" to "This is the path" are distinguished, therefore the part of ascertainment is the path of seeing. Its part is one aspect of the path of seeing, namely the forbearance of knowing the Dharma of suffering. Warmth and the like lead it directly and indirectly, therefore it benefits it, so it is called corresponding. In the part corresponding to the part of ascertainment, it also arises from meditation, not from hearing and thinking. The ground is the proximity without interval of the first dhyana, the special dhyana, and the four actualities of dhyana, that is, the practitioner of six grounds. Because it is the retinue of the path of seeing, and the path of seeing does not rely on the formless realm (because the desire realm is the ground of hearing and thinking, so it cannot become a part of ascertainment, some do not aim at the desire realm). Why does it not rely on the formless realm? Because it is first known and is to be abandoned, so the path of seeing aims at the desire realm, because the formless realm does not aim at the desire realm. Do warmth and peak both exist in the lower desire realm? This is the view of Venerable Melodious Sound, which is the seventh ground. Which body do they rely on? All four parts corresponding to ascertainment rely on the body of the desire realm, and do not rely on the body of the upper realm, this is the assertion of the Vaibhashikas. Among them, the first three are first produced among the people of the three continents, and those that have already been produced before also manifest in the gods. (Great Forbearance and) the Supreme Dharma also first arise among the gods. The first three, men can also obtain the support of women, and women can also obtain the support of men, so they will obtain the support of both (this is considering the situations of mutual transsexuality and chaotic birth at these times), the Supreme Dharma, women will obtain the support of both men and women,

Because a man does not obtain the basis of both, a man who obtains the supreme Dharma, because he obtains the cessation of not distinguishing women, will not be reborn as a woman. (The immediate arising of the supreme Dharma is the path of seeing, and when it arises, it will not be reborn as a man or a woman, this is the tenet.) The decisive factors are the contaminated virtuous dharmas that are practiced in form, and their vipāka is the five aggregates of the form realm. They refute with aspects such as impermanence, so they are the antidote to existence, and are the fulfilling action, not the karma that attracts the same kind. The meditation of the declining factor is the attracting karma, so says the teacher Kamalaśīla. How are the decisive factors abandoned? The noble ones abandon the decisive factors that are obtained by relying on whatever ground, abandoning that ground (because they are born in the upper ground, they abandon the attainment of that ground), for example, those included in the ground of the first dhyāna are abandoned by being reborn in the second dhyāna (that is, by the arising of its attainment). It is also abandoned by dying and being reborn in the upper ground, not by being separated from desire (of rebirth). (Furthermore, it is not like dying like a sentient being, or completely decaying, because the root continuum of that virtue is made stable by being close to the path of seeing. There is no abandonment by being reborn downwards here, because there is no path of application in the basis of the upper ground, so it is said.) Non-noble ordinary beings, whether they abandon or do not abandon that ground, only death (that is, abandoning the same kind) will abandon, not because of rebirth. (Because they are not familiar, they are not stable. Teacher Duntshang also said: When an ordinary being is reborn in the upper ground, he does not abandon the decisive factors, that is not the case, because only abandoning the same kind will abandon them. By abiding in the existence of death, they are abandoned, and by abiding between existences, they are already abandoned, and when he is reborn in what place, he becomes the abandoner, that is not the case, so only death is spoken of. If it is not like that, then there is attainment and manifestation together in this, then it becomes a fault that there is a path of application in the upper realm, because it is not abandoned. It is different from the noble ones, because it has already been said that attainment is not the path of application.) Decisive water conformity
