Because everything is not complete, it becomes the state between two kshantis. Some say that it is because it is the co-equal cause of the path of seeing. From the fourteenth moment onwards, it is not said to be the path of seeing because the path of the higher realms has not been seen. The sixteenth moment is the path of meditation because it focuses on the truths that have already been seen by the previous ones, and makes the path familiar. The previous seven wisdoms are said to be the path of seeing because the action of seeing is not complete, but it is not the path of meditation. So, will the sixteenth moment also be the one that definitely brings forth the path, or will the subsequent kshanti of the path see what has not been seen before, and thus become the path of seeing? Seeing or not seeing depends on seeing or not seeing the truths, not on the aspect, so not seeing one aspect (of wisdom) will not become not seeing, just as not harvesting one stalk of wheat will not become not harvesting the field. Among those who say that the path of seeing has fifteen moments, those with sharp faculties are called followers of the Dharma because they previously followed the meaning of the Dharma, such as their own sutras; those with dull faculties are called followers of faith because they previously relied on the teachings of others and followed the words with faith. If the meaning abides in this way, then the general meaning is threefold: the basis of the path of seeing, the path, and the fruit. Among these, the first, the basis of the body, is birth in the male and female of the three continents and the six desire realms of the desire realm gods, but not others, because the three lower realms and Uttarakuru are obscured by the obscuration of maturation, and eunuchs, hermaphrodites, and those with two sets of genitals are because the basis is inferior, and the beings of the higher realms are because they have no aversion to samsara. The basis of the mind is the sixth dhyana ground, because it is uncontaminated and does not focus on the formless desire, and it is said to be the same as the peak of Dharma. The second, among the four, the characteristic of the path of seeing is that the suchness of the four truths, which has not been seen before, is now directly seen. Some say that directly seeing selflessness is the antidote to what is to be abandoned by seeing. If, according to those people, the antidote is considered to be the characteristic, then wisdom and so on will not become the path of seeing, because the characteristic of the antidote is without interruption.

It is the path. If one merely desires antidotes, then the path of meditation will also become that, because it is the antidote that severs what is to be abandoned by seeing. Some say that seeing selflessness directly after the supreme Dharma becomes the cause of the lesser path of meditation. If it is the direct cause of the lesser path of meditation, then everything except the subsequent forbearance on the path will become non-seeing paths. If it is an indirect cause, then that subsequent forbearance itself will become a non-seeing path. If one wants to say that it is both a direct and indirect cause, then it will become an indefinite definition. Similarly, for following the supreme Dharma, one should say immediately after or through indirect means. Therefore, the previous explanation is without fault. The detailed divisions are: from the perspective of the individual, there are three, such as the Hearer; from the perspective of the object, there are four, such as seeing suffering; from the perspective of the essence, there are two, forbearance and knowledge; from the perspective of aspect, there are fifteen, such as the forbearance of knowing the Dharma in suffering; from the perspective of the antidote of the realm, there are two, knowing the Dharma and subsequent knowing. The previous teachers' explanation of seeing wisdom and seeing truth as two is not accepted here, because wisdom is also included within the truth of the path. Those who are revered by many say that the seeing path has twelve moments. If seeing what has not been seen as the truth is the seeing path, then everything below the fifteenth moment will become the seeing path, because not seeing the four truths before is the reason for those wisdoms. However, if it is merely seeing what has not been seen as an aspect, then only the first moment will become the seeing path. If seeing what has not been seen before as a collection of truth and aspect, then the three, such as knowing the Dharma on the path, will also become the seeing path. The special qualities are abandoning all that is to be abandoned by seeing, directly realizing the nature of truth, and possessing qualities such as obtaining six or eight non-arising natures. The different names are obtaining the eye of Dharma for all phenomena, without dust and free from defilement, obtaining forbearance for non-arising Dharma, and entering the faultlessness of the Bodhisattva with respect to the seeing path of the Bodhisattva, etc. There are many kinds of expressions in the sutras.
