Furthermore, the sutra states that giving to three types of individuals will not result in the complete exhaustion of merit, namely the Tathagata, parents, and the sick. This is because the Tathagata is said to be equal to merit. Among them, the Sa-ton sect believes that offering to the Sangha yields greater fruit than offering to the Buddha because the Sangha belongs to the Buddha's community. On the other hand, the Dharma-protecting sect believes that offering to the Buddha yields greater fruit than offering to the Sangha because the Sangha does not belong to the Buddha's community. This is explained in the "Wheel of Differentiating Sects." Among them, the last birth refers to the last existence, that is, attaining enlightenment in that very lifetime. This is considered an ordinary being by the Vaibhashika school. For the Dharma speaker, they are considered a supreme field of merit because they benefit sentient beings through the giving of Dharma. As stated in the commentary, to which of the four aspects of the field's distinction should the Dharma speaker belong? They belong to the aspect of benefiting. This is because they bestow the eye of wisdom upon those blinded by ignorance, thoroughly reveal what is harmonious and disharmonious, manifest the attainment of the undefiled Dharmakaya, and in short, because they perform all the deeds of the Buddha, they are great spiritual friends. In the sutra "Showing the Causes and Effects of Good and Bad," it is also said: If someone gives to a Dharma speaker who proclaims the secret essence of the Great Vehicle Tathagata to many retinues and opens the eyes of sentient beings, then they will obtain immeasurable ripening fruits. Therefore, the others are easy to understand. Incidentally, regarding the heaviness and lightness of karma, ending with "la" indicates that continuously engaging in the path of action is a heavy karma. Ending with "zhig" indicates that benefiting or harming those who provide benefit and the fields of merit, etc., is a heavy karma. Ending with "zhig" indicates that the basis of karma is taking life. In verbal actions, lying, etc., are heavy karmas, and in mental actions, wrong views, etc., are heavy karmas. Among the acts of killing, killing an Arhat, etc., is a heavy karma because it leads to the Avici hell. The intermediate is killing one who abides on the path. The lowest is killing animals and those who break their vows.

As it says in the Mindfulness Sutra, or in the Compendium of Determinations: Killing a large animal, or a human being or one who has taken human form, or parents, siblings, a guru, or someone beloved, or a disciple, or a Bodhisattva, or an Arhat, or a Pratyekabuddha, or a Tathagata, drawing blood with malicious intent with the thought of killing, these are heavier than the root sins. As it says. The greatness of the action refers to the actual action done by the body. As it says in the Compendium of Determinations: Rejoicing and being happy about what is being done, is being done, and has been done, imposing one's own ideas on others, and praising it, rejoicing when seeing something in accordance with the Dharma, thinking and doing for a long time, doing it constantly, doing it respectfully, killing many at once, killing badly out of affliction, threatening and forcing others to do what should not be done and killing, and when weak, suffering, and exhausted from hunger and thirst, killing while speaking and pitifully lamenting, these are said to be heavier through the door of action. The greatness of mind is the greatness of the mind that completes (or achieves final completion). The greatness of intention is the greatness of the intention of motivation. Thus, the six aspects, such as the conclusion, become smaller or larger depending on whether they are small or large. If all six aspects are complete, then it should be known that this is a very heavy karma. The Root Compendium says: There are three types of heavy karma: Doing it completely entangled in afflictions, being very happy to see something in accordance with the Dharma, and then knowing, thinking, and observing accordingly, this is from the aspect of intention. Doing and accumulating it constantly, and letting others participate in it and praising it, this is from the aspect of action. Harming those who help, those who truly enter, and those who diligently practice, this is from the aspect of the field. As it says. Therefore, it is also said in the Mindfulness Sutra that being threatened by the king's punishment, and towards gurus, the sick, Pratyekabuddhas, and those who have entered the stream, etc., and taking what is not given for the sake of hunger, this has small fruit. Similarly, taking what is not given without having taken the vow of not taking what is not given, and having done
