The first and second dhyanas, although having corresponding obscurations and being unpredicted, are to be abandoned by seeing. Because they look inward, they are not produced from all actions. Therefore, the obscured bodily and verbal actions are produced by Mahabrahma through deception, such as speaking, etc., and therefore only exist in the first dhyana. Secondly, regarding the actual meaning: Here, virtue is the four virtues of ultimate, intrinsic, corresponding, and motivational. Among these four virtues, liberation and nirvana are virtues in the ultimate sense, because they pacify all non-virtue and suffering, so they are supremely blissful, just as being without illness is called happiness. The three roots of virtue, such as non-attachment, and being ashamed and having scruples, do not depend on correspondence and motivation, so like beneficial medicine, they are virtues by their very nature. Although all eleven are virtues by their very nature, only five are mentioned here to show that the opposite is non-virtue by its very nature. The minds and mental phenomena that correspond to these virtues by their very nature become virtuous if they correspond to them, and do not become virtuous if they do not correspond, so like a drink mixed with medicine, they are virtues by correspondence. The bodily and verbal actions produced by these intrinsic and corresponding virtues, and the attainment and characteristics included by "etc.", and the two mindless absorptions, like milk produced from a drink mixed with medicine, are virtues produced by motivation. (If that is the case, then how are the attainment of virtue when severing the root of virtue, connecting with doubt, and connecting with the virtue of life in rebirth virtuous? Because they are not any of the four virtues produced by unequal minds. To this, the answer is: These are only eliminating the obstacles to attainment or merely the conditions for arising, and virtue is produced by the attainment itself.) The opposite of the virtues that have been spoken of are the four non-virtues. Samsara is the entrance to all non-virtue and suffering, so it is extremely unhappy, like a disease, and is ultimately non-virtuous. The three roots of non-virtue, and being shameless and having no scruples, are

Like unsuitable medicine, its nature is unwholesome. Anger and holding grudges, etc., are also unwholesome by nature, but because they are attributed to the part of the three root afflictions mentioned earlier, they are not shown separately. Or, according to this system, they are not shown because they are not the opposite of the three roots of virtue. The minds and mental factors that are associated with those that are unwholesome by nature are unwholesome by association, like a drink mixed with unsuitable medicine. The actions of body and speech, and their characteristics and attainments, that are aroused by them are unwholesome by motivation, like milk produced from a drink mixed with unsuitable medicine. Among the four types of indeterminate, the ultimately indeterminate are the cessation of fixed non-analytical cessation and space. Why? Because they cannot possibly become the four permanent virtues and the four unwholesome things. The others are included in the four virtues and the four unwholesome things as appropriate, because all contaminated things are ultimately unwholesome, and the truth of the path is also included in the nature, association, motivation, and ultimate virtue. Among the aggregates, the four minds of craftsmanship, deportment, transformation, and maturation, and the (inner and outer) material forms are indeterminate by nature. (All the afflictions of mind and mental factors of the desire realm's view of the perishable and the view of the body, along with their associates, and the two upper realms.) What is associated with the mind of craftsmanship, etc., is indeterminate by association. The actions of body and speech aroused by craftsmanship, deportment, and transformation minds (except for those born of maturation) (together with their characteristics and attainments) are indeterminate by motivation (what is obscured but not aroused exists only in the beginning). These distinctions of virtue, non-virtue, and indeterminacy, although there are cases of inclusion within each other, are differentiated because they are distinguished in relation to opposites. Incidentally, the explanation of motivation is that if what is to be abandoned by seeing does not arouse expression, then wouldn't it contradict the sutra that says that from wrong view will come the consequences of wrong discrimination, wrong speech, and wrong action? (If thinking)
