With the precepts of immoral conduct, and the actions of body and speech, because they are encompassed by things, they are called the path of action. Therefore, here there are four possibilities: having manifestation and not having non-manifestation, and also not having manifestation. Being in an intermediate state between neither discipline nor non-discipline (the intermediate state refers to either good or non-good), if one dwells in this state, with a weak mind that initiates good or non-good, that is, with a non-intense mind, performs good or non-good bodily and verbal manifestations, then (because a weak mind cannot initiate non-manifestation), one possesses manifestation itself, but does not possess non-manifestation. Here, the mention of a weak mind of good or non-good is because if one acts with a strong mind, one possesses both manifestation and non-manifestation. If even a weak mind of good or non-good cannot generate non-manifestation, then what need is there to mention acting with an indeterminate mind? This is to illustrate this point. Here, generally speaking, if specifically designated, then the seven objects of merit arising from matter, and the paths of action such as killing, even if done with a weak mind and an indeterminate mind, possess non-manifestation. Noble beings who have abandoned the manifestation of this life and whose manifestation of the next life has not yet arisen (such as the blind, etc., and those born in the formless realm, whose manifestation has ceased), possess only (undefiled) non-manifestation, because manifestation has ceased and has not arisen, and they certainly possess the attainment of undefiled discipline. (Here, the example of ordinary beings is not given because there are cases where ordinary beings who have attained meditative absorption and are reborn do not have manifestation arising, but this is not certain for ordinary children, whereas it is certain for noble beings. Or it is thought to be in relation to the desire realm, or it is thought that noble beings are examples, and ordinary beings also have similar cases, as Gyalsay said. If children who have attained the preliminary stage of the first dhyana die, is there also such a case in the desire realm? Maha said that because the actual attainment has not been achieved, death in the preliminary stage has the same characteristic as abandonment, and the scriptures say that those who have a body but do not have the actions of the body are the warm ones in the egg, etc. That is what is said, but there is also in the support of the desire realm.

This is the understanding of some instances of merit arising dependent on and independent of matter.) This is also said within the scope of those who have transmigrated to a different realm, but for those who have not transmigrated, it is the same for ordinary beings who have attained the vows of meditative concentration and then die and transmigrate. If one asks, when arising from equipoise, is there no present manifestation? That is the same for noble ones as well. If one asks, do past and future attainments exist? That is the same for meditative concentration as well. Possessing both is possessing vows and non-vows and (intermediates,) included by (with strong mind, virtuous and non-virtuous,) manifestation (being done.) Not possessing both are the various ordinary beings of the formless realm (and those who die without having separated from desire and without manifestation arising.) Similarly, it should be understood that possessing vows but not possessing intermediates, and so forth. Explaining the manner of attainment, the vows arising from meditative concentration are attained by the very attainment of the actual basis and the proximate stage of contaminated meditative concentration, that is, any mind whatsoever, because they arise simultaneously with those. The uncontaminated vows are attained by that which is attained by the noble one who has attained the mind of the six grounds of uncontaminated meditative concentration (the attainment of the vows of meditative concentration is also attained by the proximate stage being included by combining with the lower ground, and by being born from the upper to the lower ground. What is included by the actual basis is through separation from desire or through birth, as just explained. The attainment of the uncontaminated is also through reliance on the invincible through application, for the ninth liberation, what is included by the actual basis is through separation from desire, if it is by the worldly path, then only the future, the past can also attain the present. The non-returner's separation from desire can only be attained by the preliminary application.) No. The vows called individual liberation are included by the manner of manifestation such as requests and statements of others (preceptors and disciplinarians), and can also be attained by one's own manifestation. By the words such as that, it refers to one's own mind and the manifestation of body and speech. Among these, the vows of the parents of monks and nuns are obtained from the Sangha, and the parents of lay devotees and, the parents of novices and, those who keep the eight precepts are obtained from individuals. The upholders of the Vinaya of the Vaibhashika school say that taking the vows of a lay follower
