And they generate mind and mental events. (The causal condition is the five causes, etc.) A rabbit's horn! Some minds, called "sky flowers," believe that they arise from contradictory things like rabbits and horns. The Vaibhashikas believe that the names and characteristics of things like rabbit horns exist as substances, so they arise from them. Some believe that non-inverted minds and mental events arise from the objective condition, while inverted ones do not arise from the objective condition, which is good. The three conditions other than the objective condition generate the two, the cessation of perception and feeling and the meditative absorption of cessation. (The causal condition is the five or four aggregates of virtuous qualities that arise simultaneously and are equal in ground.) In this case, the immediately preceding condition is the mind of meditative absorption. Therefore, these two meditative absorptions arise from mental activity and are immediately preceding to the mind, but because they hinder the arising of the mind, they are not immediately preceding conditions. They do not arise from the objective condition because they are not objects of focus. Therefore, the Vaibhashikas do not accept the immediately preceding condition of form, but for some non-associated things, they do accept the immediately preceding condition, because the two meditative absorptions are also non-associated activities, which are non-associated compounded phenomena. The unconscious being enters spontaneously, propelled by previous karma, and is not generated by mental activity, so it is not said to arise from the immediately preceding condition. Therefore, the teacher Prince Royal said that the unconscious being is not generated by mental activity, but arises from the power of karma, so the immediately preceding condition of mind does not appear in the treatise. The teacher Gangspel also said: If the unconscious being is also immediately preceding to the mind, then why is it said that the two meditative absorptions arise from three conditions? That is true, but it arises from maturation and enters spontaneously, not from mental activity, so it is not mentioned. Therefore, this is summarized in the later sutra.

Thus it is. Apart from mind, mental factors, and meditative stabilizations, the remaining non-associated phenomena and material phenomena arise from the two: the co-emergent condition and the adhipati condition. They do not arise from the immediately preceding condition and the objective condition because they are not associated. If that is the case, then wouldn't the two meditative stabilizations also not arise (from the immediately preceding condition)? If someone considers meditative stabilization to be without mind, then this fault exists. If it is thought that merely arising as a continuation of mind arises from the immediately preceding condition, then non-cognitive actions would also arise from the immediately preceding condition. Therefore, for those who believe that meditative stabilization is associated with mind, it is acceptable for it to arise from the immediately preceding condition. If that is the case, then would it also arise from the objective condition? Although the basis for negation is such, here it speaks of the nature of negation, because it is without an object. Then, would it also not arise from the immediately preceding condition? Although that is the case, it is said so because the immediately preceding condition that possesses cessation arises. However, according to the Vaibhashikas, the two meditative stabilizations are considered to arise from the immediately preceding condition because they arise from the application of mind in meditative stabilization, without relying on the four great elements. The meaning of 'sameness' also lies in considering the sameness of the two, the condition and the conditioned, being manifestly assembled by the mind. The Vaibhashikas and others believe that beings arise from a single, permanent Ishvara (自在天), and practitioners and others, included in this, believe in a single, permanent self (神我), the Samkhyas believe in a single, permanent Prakriti (自性), and some believe that atoms are permanent, and that Purusha (胜人) and time, etc., arise from the permanent. However, beings do not arise from those, because they arise sequentially, and 'etc.' refers to places that are not fixed, and things that are not fixed. Like this, if the permanent Ishvara constantly exists as the creator of these beings, then it is certain that all things would arise in all places at all times.
