The first two aspects are shown. Among them, the first aspect refers to obtaining the eye faculty from not having it, but not having eye consciousness, that is, being born in the desire realm and gradually obtaining the eye faculty (because the unrecordable attainment does not regress, it is simultaneous). And dying from the formless realm and being reborn in the second dhyana and above. The first case is that eye consciousness is wholesome and afflicted (because the attainment occurs in the three times), because it has already been attained before. The second case (formless realm) is because in the second dhyana and above, it does not have eye consciousness in itself, and the faculty is newly acquired. (That is, only having the eye faculty refers to the case of being born in the latter three dhyanas, but not manifesting eye consciousness. Only having eye consciousness refers to the case of not obtaining the eye faculty in the desire realm, the eye faculty being damaged, and the unrecordable attainment of the eye faculty, which does not regress before, is connected with eye consciousness. Having both refers to the case of obtaining the eye faculty in the desire realm and not being damaged, and being born in the first and second dhyanas, etc., when looking at things. For the first three dhyanas, there may also be eye faculties from other places. The fourth case refers to the case of being born in the formless realm. Similarly, the four cases of eye and form, eye consciousness and form, attainment and possession, etc. should also be understood. Eye is, but form is not, refers to the case of gradually obtaining the eye faculty. There is no case of newly obtaining form but not obtaining the eye faculty, because when reborn from the formless realm to the lower realm, the intermediate state will have all the faculties. The third and fourth cases should be understood as everything that has been said before. Furthermore, if one possesses the eye element, does one also possess form? If asked in this way, it is combined with the previous words, that is, one who possesses the eye faculty also possesses form. There are cases of possessing form but not possessing the eye faculty, that is, the blind, the blurred who have not obtained the eye faculty, etc., and the case of being damaged by conditions. If one newly obtains eye consciousness, does one also obtain form? Some obtain it separately, and some obtain it together, these are the four cases. The first case refers to the case of being born in the second dhyana, etc., and manifesting eye consciousness. The second case refers to the case of being born from the formless realm to the above three dhyanas. The third case refers to the case of being born from the formless realm to the desire realm Brahma world. The fourth case refers to the case of being born from the formless realm to the same realm, and

And, from the beginning, dying and being born immediately, because this inherently possesses it. If it is said that one who possesses eye-consciousness also possesses form, the answer is yes. One who possesses form but does not possess eye-consciousness is when one is born in the upper three dhyanas, and the eye-consciousness is not manifested. The same applies to the ear, etc.) The second case of not possessing eye-consciousness but obtaining possession, and not possessing the eye, is when those from the second dhyana and above manifest the eye-consciousness of the first dhyana and look at form, (because there is no eye-consciousness in their own realm, so they do not possess it from the beginning.) When dying and transferring from the second dhyana, etc., and connecting to the intermediate state in the desire realm and the first dhyana. The first case is that the form realm beings have complete faculties because the eye exists from the beginning; the latter case is that when connecting in the intermediate state, although one obtains virtuous and afflicted consciousness (newly obtained), according to the commentary, the eye element and the possession of what was not originally there is not, because the faculty is not interrupted, just as one has heard, so it possesses it. The third case is that the eye element and the element of eye-consciousness are obtained together, such as dying from the formless realm and transferring to birth in the desire realm and the first dhyana. This is because one did not possess these two before, and when connecting in the intermediate state, the intermediate state has complete faculties, and the virtuous and afflicted eye-consciousness, past and future, are also temporary and arising. The fourth case, not both, is indicated by "also", except for those cases (i.e., dying from the formless realm and being born immediately, and being born in the upper three dhyanas and not manifesting eye-consciousness, and beings in the desire realm with eyes dying simultaneously and being born in the higher two realms, and those not included by the continuum). Furthermore, with the word "also", it is explained that the four cases of possession, and the eye and form, and what is obtained and possessed by eye-consciousness and form, must be grasped. Furthermore, the only one of these elements is the eye, etc. (six and six consciousnesses), twelve in total. What are they? Except for the six elements of form and what is included by etc., sound, smell, taste, touch, and the dharma element. Therefore, the six, form, etc., are external.
