It is not just that, because that would lead to the non-existence of mental events. Moreover, consciousness itself is not born from the mind, because the sutra says: 'These phenomena of feeling and thought are born from the mind and depend on the mind.' And it is said that the mind is associated with desire and so on. Furthermore, among the eighteen realms, the ten material realms such as the eye (because they are aggregates of atoms) are aggregates of atoms. The remaining eight are not aggregates. Moreover, among these realms, the cutter, like an axe, and the cut, like wood, are the four external realms called form, smell, taste, and touch, but the faculties are not the cut, because it refers to dividing a continuous stream of aggregates into segments, and the faculties cannot divide a continuous stream of connection into two. Because severed limbs such as the body have no faculties (so the faculties cannot be divided into two). (If it exists, it will also generate it.) Then, if the tip of the nose and so on is cut off and then reattached, how can they perceive touch? The cut tip of the nose and so on do not perceive touch, but when they are reattached, they perceive because they are connected to the body with faculties, and it is because the proliferated faculties are reborn. The movement of the severed end of the penis and so on is also due to the wind, not the faculties and the mind, because that would lead to two continua. The faculties are also not cutters, because they are clear like light. Sound is impermanent, and the dharma realm and the seven mind realms have no body, so they do not belong to aggregates, therefore they are neither cutters nor cut. Just as these four external realms are cutters and cut, so are what is burned by fire and what is measured by scales. The burner is fire and what is measured is butter and so on, to which there are different opinions. How do they say it? Some say that the burner is only fire, so it is touch; what is measured is only weight, so both are only touch. Some say that it is not only touch, but the external

It is said that these four realms (aggregates) are those. Fourth, the distinction of the three kinds of arising is that, among the eighteen realms, those arising from maturation and those arising from growth are the five inner realms such as the eye. Because they are produced by non-virtue and defiled virtue, and because they are increased by the causes of growth. Therefore, arising from the cause of maturation, it is called arising from maturation, omitting the word "cause," for example, just as a vehicle with an ox is called an ox cart. Furthermore, karma matures into ability and power, which is maturation. Because it arises from it, it is called arising from maturation, which is naming the fruit with the name of the cause, or naming the cause of maturation with the name of the fruit of maturation, and then because it arises from it, it is called arising from maturation, just as a leaf is called a vegetable. There are four causes of growth: food, massage and wiping, and other good deeds, sleep and samadhi itself. Some say there are five, including celibacy, but that is merely non-harming, not growth. This is the explanation of the (Vaibhashika) master. Because they arise from them, they are called arising from growth. The continuum of growth is the continuum of maturation. (That is, the senses) revolve around it as usual, so it is always protected. (That is, because food and so on increase, it also helps the maturation senses.) If the inner five have arisen from homogeneous causes, then it is unreasonable to have only two arisings. If not, then the latter three (are unreasonable). In the commentary on the "Momentary Theory," it is said that apart from the first moment of the assembly of forbearance of knowledge of the Dharma in the Four Noble Truths of suffering, origination, cessation, and path, there is no other conditioned phenomenon that does not arise from homogeneous causes, which contradicts the above statement. If someone asks this, then for these two arisings, since there is a homogeneous cause that produces the later homogeneous from the previous homogeneous, there is no later fault; and since there is no third arising from a homogeneous cause other than these two, one is freed from the first fault. (If there are different ones, then the continuum of colored senses will also persist in a dead corpse, because the homogeneous cause of form, etc., can be observed. In general, maturation ceases)
