Because the Sutra Pitaka and other sutras also say that sentient beings each have a stream of consciousness, and in the Sutra of the Twelve Sources it is also said that the six aggregates of consciousness are contained within the mind-source, therefore consciousness is the consciousness of the mind, and its essence is the same. However, it arises from different sense faculties, and therefore appears in six forms, so they say. The Madhyamika master Chandrakirti says in the Entering the Middle Way: "Because it does not cease by its own nature, therefore even without the Alaya consciousness, it can do this. For some, even if the karma has ceased for a long time, it can still produce a true result. Know this." And "The Alaya consciousness exists, and the person exists, and only these aggregates exist. This teaching is so profound that those who cannot understand it will believe it." Because the Alaya consciousness and the afflicted mind do not appear outside the six consciousnesses, and what is said in the Lankavatara Sutra and other sutras is also to guide those who fear the view of annihilation, so in the conventional truth, they believe that there are only six consciousnesses. Other teachers say that in the ultimate truth, no dharma is established, but in name, the Blessed One also spoke of the latter two consciousnesses, so in the conventional truth, there are eight consciousnesses. The teacher also said in the Commentary on the Mind: "For example, the land that reaches the end of the ocean also shakes, similarly, the Alaya consciousness also shakes the dependent body." They think so. For those who want the stainless mind, if it is called the wisdom of the noble ones, then it is consciousness, so it is not the ninth consciousness. If you also want to regard it as an ordinary person, then they will become noble ones, because they have undefiled wisdom, it should be said. For those who think that all consciousnesses are one entity, there will be faults because of the appearance of clear and unclear objects, and whether or not they depend on nearby things, and whether or not they depend on colored roots, and the contradictory dharmas such as arising and ceasing. In the Brahman Collection, there are those without bodies and those who live inside the body, and long

Saying "the mind that wanders alone and is difficult to tame" is spoken with the sole intention of the mind's consciousness, because bondage and liberation are done by the mind. Saying that each stream of consciousness is different is with the intention of each consciousness of the same kind. Saying that the six aggregates of consciousness are collected by the mind's sense base is from the perspective of collecting all dharmas into the twelve sense bases, therefore it is said that the six aggregates of consciousness are collected into the mind's sense base, so it should be said that these do not show that all consciousnesses are one entity. Others should be understood as they are respectfully. The aggregate of consciousness itself is established as a sense base, that is, whatever is the aggregate of consciousness is also the mind's sense base, because it is both the mind and the door through which later consciousness arises. The aggregate of consciousness itself is established as a realm, and it is also considered to be the seven realms of mind. What are the seven? The six realms of consciousness from eye consciousness to mind consciousness, and the realm of mind. So, what is the realm of mind that is different from the six consciousnesses? There is nothing other than those, that is, the consciousness of the state immediately after the extinction of the six consciousnesses such as eye consciousness (without being interrupted by other consciousnesses) is named as mind itself. (In this way, if the six consciousnesses and the mind are mutually inclusive, if the mind is the main one, there will be twelve realms, and if the consciousness is the main one, there will be seventeen realms, is that so? Even if it is the latter, there is no fault, because it depends on the need. The mind is just extinct, so it excludes the present and the mental factors. The present mind is constant, but it is a realm at other times, like a son becoming someone else's. The five consciousnesses each produce their own similar later consciousnesses, so they are each realms, and after the continuum is cut off, they produce the mind that enters their respective objects, so they are established as the realm of mind.) In this regard, the internal realms are all three different, the external realms are different in kind and consciousness, the realm of consciousness is different in kind and object, and the dharma realm is the uncommon object of the mind.
