Etc. (The sum of the forty-four realms other than the eighteen realms is three sets of six and one set of four, six sets of three and two sets of two.) After that, when explaining the six realms, the four realms such as earth have been included in the touch realm, and have been explained before. Since the realms of space and consciousness have not been explained, the holes of doors and windows, etc., should be understood as the realm of space. (The Vaibhashikas believe that since the distinction between inside and outside is mentioned, the realm of space is different from space. The sutra says, what is the inner space? Which space of this body relies on the inside, becomes space, is not obvious, and is not covered by blood and skin, such as the holes of the eyes, etc. What is the outer space? Which outer space has become space, is not obvious, and is not covered by form, etc. Furthermore, since it is said in the sutra that being free from attachment to form is a vast realm of space, the sutra says: Because his mind is liberated from the five realms, free from desire, then his consciousness becomes the remainder. The sutra says that the uncontaminated is not to be abandoned. They say so.) Moreover, since daytime is light and nighttime is the nature of darkness, it is included in the realm of form. This is the view of the Vaibhashikas, that is, the form of the nearby with obstacles. They say so. The Sutra masters say that this is not the intention of the Sutra, because light and darkness are conditioned, and the realm of space is also said to be unconditioned, so it is the nearby without obstacles. They say so. In this way, the realm of space is included in the realm of Dharma. All consciousness is not the realm of consciousness, but they believe that it is the realm of contaminated consciousness. (The uncontaminated is what cuts off existence.) Because the Blessed One said that these six realms are the basis for birth, old age, sickness, death, and transference in existence. The sutra says: Monks, this person is a person of the six realms. It is also said that one enters the mother's womb relying on the six realms.
