Because it is said in terms of clinging to self. (Secondly, the collection of places named "places" into places:) Furthermore, the first eight of the ten exhaustive places mentioned are the ten exhaustive places. Because it appears as "eight without attachment," it is collected by the Dharma place because it is the nature of non-attachment. If it is with retinue, it is the nature of the five aggregates, so it is collected by the mind and Dharma places. Because it appears as "two are formless," the two, space and consciousness, are the nature of the first two formless realms, and because they are the four aggregates, they are collected by the mind and Dharma places. Similarly, the eight places of overcoming are also of the nature of non-attachment, so they are collected by the Dharma place. If they are with retinue, they are collected by the mind and Dharma places. Also, in the sutra: Here, if a monk has a teacher or a Brahmachari, a wise man, a lama, or anyone who teaches the Dharma, then here, how the teacher or Brahmachari, a wise man, a lama, or anyone else teaches the Dharma, in that way, they will truly understand the meaning of each of those Dharmas, and they will also truly understand each Dharma. Truly understanding each meaning and truly understanding each Dharma will give rise to great joy. Great joy will give rise to mental joy. If there is mental joy, the body will become very pliant. If the body is very pliant, one will experience happiness. If one is happy, the mind will be in equanimity. If the mind is in equanimity, one will truly know and truly see what is as it is. If one truly knows and truly sees what is as it is, one will become disgusted. If one becomes disgusted, one will be separated from desire. If one is separated from desire, one will be liberated, and this is the first place of liberation. And, similarly, the five places of liberation that are spoken of are widely applied to reciting with sound, extensively teaching others, contemplating, and meditating. Those are wisdom, so they are collected by the Dharma place. Because it arises from being taught by others and from reciting

Meaning and Dharma knowledge are the wisdom arising from hearing and the act of showing it to others; meaning and Dharma knowledge arising from the mind are those arising from thinking; meaning and Dharma knowledge arising from meditation are the wisdom arising from meditation. Therefore, extreme joy of mind is mental ease. Training the body is making the body capable. Experiencing happiness is making the mind capable. Samadhi is meditative concentration, the collection of quiescence. Seeing things as they truly are is wisdom, the collection of insight. Disgust arises from suffering and the origin of suffering. Detachment is through the path. Liberation is the realization of cessation, this should be understood. When with retinue, reciting and showing to others, there are hearing sounds, corresponding companions, and characteristics, etc., therefore it is encompassed by the sense-sphere of sound, mind, and dharma. Furthermore, the four formless realms beginning with the sphere of infinite space are encompassed by the two sense-spheres of mind and dharma, because they are the nature of the four aggregates other than form. Furthermore, the sutra says: There are sentient beings with form who have no perception and no separate perceptions, such as the unconscious sentient beings, this is the first source of rebirth. There are also sentient beings who, having formlessness, have completely transcended the sphere of nothingness and abide having perfected the sphere of neither perception nor non-perception, such as those who approach the sphere of neither perception nor non-perception, this is the second source of rebirth. The so-called unconscious ones are encompassed by ten sense-spheres, because that is the nature of the eight forms other than smell and taste, and of mind and dharma, and the mind here exists at birth and death. The sphere of neither perception nor non-perception, because it is formless, is the nature of the four aggregates, therefore it is encompassed by the sense-spheres of mind and dharma. (Third, the aggregation of elements named as realms into realms:) Furthermore, in the Sutra of Many Realms, the eighteen realms of eye, etc., among the sixty-two realms mentioned, are the methods of aggregation previously explained.
