It also focuses on the truth, because the formless cannot focus on it. It is said above that there is no path of seeing, because the path of seeing is only the basis of the desire realm. If he does not obtain the mind of meditation, he will not obtain the mind of the formless. If he obtains it, he will rely on it to cultivate the path. The path of meditation is easy, while other grounds are difficult. Because it will be said that way, it is easy to generate the path by relying on the meditation that has limbs and combines calm abiding and insight. (Although it is said here that consciousness is the retinue of wisdom, in general, the main retinue of mind and mental factors will not be confused, because it depends on the distinction of Dharma, such as the main person is the king, but when writing, the writer is the main.) Therefore, the wisdom without outflows of the path of seeing, together with the retinue, must be the fifth aggregate. The meaning of the basis is that these paths are born in the self-nature of the samadhi of meditation and formlessness, not like the Jia tree relying on a wooden frame. Secondly, there are also two types of nominally established Dharma Abhidharma: the cause of entering in order to obtain the Dharma Abhidharma of the ultimate meaning, that is, the wisdom with outflows born from birth, hearing, thinking, and cultivation, and its accompanying retinue; and the treatises that interpret them (the Dharma Abhidharma included). (In order, the cause and the interpreter are nominally established by the name of the fruit and the interpreted. Second, how many aggregates are the nominalists?) Innate (born from obtaining birth there, that is, without relying on the practice of hearing, etc., but the wisdom of self-nature is vast, that is) exists in the retinue of all three realms, all grounds, and all consciousnesses. There is no accompanying form, because it is not the ground of equanimity. The three, such as the wisdom born from hearing, exist in the retinue of consciousness, but not in the retinue of root consciousness. Because the three wisdoms are born from practice, and root consciousness is not like that. Some say that the wisdom born from hearing also exists in the retinue of ear consciousness, which is unreasonable. Because that is the object of names.

Therefore, since (the object must be the same), ear consciousness is not an object of names. If it were (an object of dharma-born), it would be implicated in the conceptualization of sound and meaning appearing. Therefore, wisdom born of hearing exists in the desire and form realms, but not in the higher realms. Because it arises in the wheel of consciousness that follows hearing, there is no sound or ear consciousness in the formless realm, and there is no speech between people. Because it is not meditative stabilization, there is no following form either. Wisdom born of thinking does not exist in the two higher realms, because thinking-born (must grasp the connection of name and meaning, so it arises only in the wheel of consciousness), is looking inward. And those higher ones are the ground of meditative stabilization (striving in the mind), if one looks inward, it will become meditation-born. Therefore, thinking-born exists only in the desire realm, and there is no following form either. Wisdom born of meditation does not exist in the mind of the desire realm, because it is not the ground of meditative stabilization, and wisdom born of meditation is the ground of meditative stabilization. Also, in the commentary it says: In the desire realm there are three mental activities, namely, those born of hearing and thinking, and those obtained from birth. In the form realm there are three, namely, those born of hearing and meditation, and those obtained from birth. There is no thinking-born. When they begin to think, at that time only their meditative stabilization abides closely. In the formless realm, there are only those born of meditation and those obtained from birth. Master Gampopa also said that because the desire realm is not meditative stabilization, there is no meditation-born. The noble Asanga also said in the Basis of the Grounds: Why are only dhyana, liberation, meditative stabilization, and attainment called the ground of meditative stabilization, and the one-pointedness of the desire realm is not meditative stabilization? Because dhyana and so on are accomplished through no regret, supreme joy, joy, extreme pliancy, and bliss, but behavior in the desire realm is not like that, because desire
