When discriminating wisdom arises, and by familiarizing oneself with it on the four paths, the necessity of necessities, the cause of samsara, all arising afflictions, and the contaminated actions accumulated by them, are pacified with remainder, and all suffering as a result is also pacified with no remainder, thus Nirvana without remainder will be attained, which is shown by implication. The terms "said" and "wandered" indicate the three times with one word, as it is said in the Good Conduct, "All the lions among men who have passed in the three times." Just as it is said. (Therefore, it is established together with the need. Moreover, these seven Abhidharma texts were first spoken by the Buddha Shakyamuni, who shows the place of faith.) Furthermore, the Vaibhashikas say that even the great Arhats such as the venerable Shariputra could not initially show the characteristics of the Dharma and distinguish them without relying on the Buddha. Therefore, the Abhidharma was first spoken in fragments by the Teacher Bhagavan himself, depending on the thoughts and questions of the disciples, from this and that scripture. Later, the venerable Katyayanaputra and other Arhats compiled them into works such as the "Entrance to Wisdom." For example, the venerable Dharmatrata said, "Alas, conditioned things are impermanent," and so on. The Teacher, for the sake of taming disciples, spoke them in fragments in this and that sutra, and then they were categorized into sections, but they are still the words of the Teacher. Therefore, the Abhidharma is entirely spoken by the Buddha, and because it was compiled by the Arhats, it is like the Sutra Pitaka and the Vinaya Pitaka. This argument is not unestablished, because it was compiled by the venerable Kashyapa. The term "say" is used to indicate the opponent's view. The Sutra school says that this is the doctrine of the Vaibhashika Abhidharma masters, and we do not accept it, because there are many contradictions to reason, such as saying that the unconditioned is real. Moreover, many people are known to have composed Abhidharma, so those were also composed by the Arhats, and not compiled from what was spoken by the Bhagavan. So, what was made by whom? "Entrance to Wisdom"...

Made by the son of Upagupta, the author is Vasumitra, the aggregate of consciousness is by Deva, the Dharma aggregate is by Shariputra, the Designation Treatise is by Maudgalyayana, the Variety of Beings is by Mahakauṣṭhila, and the aggregate of elements is by Pūrṇa. This is a summary from the treatise of the son of the king, the teacher named Kīrti Mitra. The teacher Jñānaprastha says that the Variety of Beings was made by Shariputra. Therefore, they say that we do not rely on the scriptures as प्रमाण(pramāṇa, प्रमाण, pramāṇa, valid cognition). The Vaibhāṣikas say, if that is the case, then the establishment of the three baskets will not exist, as the sūtras say that a bhikṣu is a holder of the three baskets. (The seven categories). Because other than this, there is no other Abhidharma basket. The Sautrāntikas say (one should examine whether the seven categories are the words of the Buddha, because we do not accept that the Abhidharma was spoken by the Buddha, therefore), those parts of the sūtras that determine the ultimate truth and proclaim the characteristics of phenomena are established as the Abhidharma basket. If that is the case, why are they called Vaibhāṣikas and Sautrāntikas? Because they enjoy and engage in explaining the treatises separately, or because they understand the separate explanations, they are called Vaibhāṣikas. Among them, those who live in the country of Kashmir are called Kashmiris. Those who live in the western part of Kashmir are called Westerners. Those who live in the west and the central part of India, and other places outside of Kashmir, are called those under the sun. Those who do not regard the treatises that rely on the sūtras as प्रमाण(pramāṇa, प्रमाण, pramāṇa, valid cognition) as प्रमाण(pramāṇa, प्रमाण, pramāṇa, valid cognition) are called Sautrāntikas, and they are also called Exemplifiers, the commentators say this. Here, if the ultimate purpose of the Abhidharma is the nirvāṇa with remainder and the nirvāṇa without remainder, then what are their nature and differences? The Śrāvakayāna school says that for the noble ones, they have obtained and realized the separation from the Saṃkleśa-nirodha, which is the truth of the origin, collected by karma and afflictions, but have not realized the cessation of the suffering of the result, which is the truth of cessation, this is the nirvāṇa with remainder, because they still have the remainder of the three kinds of suffering, that is, the desire realm.
