Like this it is said: "Because the Dharma that is to be expressed by modifying names is also examined, therefore the relationship between sound and meaning, he does not consider it to be self-nature." Although others think so, according to this sect's view, even if it is the relationship between what is expressed and what can be expressed, the generality of sound and the generality of meaning are also the objects of consciousness, are form aggregates without name and form, and are real, so it is consistent with the expressed entity, and different from the other two. Third, the meaning of the word is explained in the commentary: "If the Abhidharma is not taught, then the disciples cannot fully distinguish the Dharma." (Because if the Abhidharma that can correctly show the self-characteristics and common characteristics of all Dharmas is not taught, then the wisdom to correctly understand all knowable Dharmas will not arise. Purpose.) In order to generate the wisdom of fully discriminating the Dharma in the minds of the beings to be tamed, therefore, or for this purpose, the Abhidharma (is what is to be taught. If the purpose is only to generate wisdom, then why must the Abhidharma be taught?) These seven treatises were spoken by the teacher of the world, including the gods, the Buddha Bhagavan. So, what is the reason for teaching the Abhidharma for this purpose? Like this, if the Abhidharma is not taught, then the wisdom of fully discriminating the Dharma will not arise in the minds of the beings to be tamed, (then if there is no wisdom, what are the faults? If there is wisdom, what are the benefits?) The Sutra says: "Afflictions are to be destroyed by wisdom." (For what reason?) If there is no wisdom to fully distinguish between contaminated and uncontaminated Dharmas, such as form, feeling, impermanence, suffering, etc., then there is no other way to pacify the root and proximate cause of afflictions of samsara, and if these afflictions are not pacified, then afflictions will also create karma, and these two will cause sentient beings to wander again and again in this great ocean of samsara. Therefore, if there is no wisdom to fully discriminate the Dharma, because the cause of samsara has not been abandoned, it will not be liberated from the fruit of samsara, therefore, by directly showing the opposite situation, if the Abhidharma is taught, then the necessary complete
