He earnestly requested him to go to that place and take a seat on the throne. Soon after, Jomo (a respectful title for a woman) relied on the supreme Kunpang (name of a person), and for thirty-eight years he never moved from that great hermitage, spending his time in listening, thinking, and meditating, and extensively benefiting Buddhism and sentient beings. We, the master and disciples, relied on him inseparable for five years, and received all the complete instructions and branches of the empowerment and the three sections of Mind Series (Semde Korsum, a classification of Nyingma teachings) (the Shawaripa (name of a person) lineage transmitted from 'Dro pa (name of a person), Rwa pa (name of a person), Bibhuti (name of a person); the Life Force (Srog rtsol, name of a teaching) transmitted from Sakya Pandita (name of a person); transmitted from Gyi jo (name of a person), Tsa mi (name of a person), Dpyal pa (name of a person), Man lung gu ru (name of a person)). According to the tradition of Rwa pa (name of a person), the Great Commentary on the Kalachakra (Dus kyi 'khor lo'i 'grel chen, a Buddhist tantric scripture) and other commentaries on the Bodhisattva, appeared in India during the time of three kings. At that time, with Vajrasana (Rdo rje gdan, place name, Bodh Gaya) as the center, the eastern region was Gaja-pati (title, Lord of Elephants), King Deva-pala (name of a person); the southern region was Nara-pati (title, Lord of Men), King Jau gang ga pa (name of a person); the western region was Ashwa-pati (title, Lord of Horses), King Kana ka au ja (name of a person). At that time, in the eastern part of India, there were four regions: Bhàng ga la (place name), Bha ren dra (place name), Orvi sa (place name), Ka ma ru (place name), and Magadha (Ma ga dhà, place name) in the center. At that time, Tsi lu pandita (name of a person), who was born in Orvi sa (place name) in the east, knew all the tenets, and studied all the sutras and tantras in Ratna gi ri bi hà ra (name of a monastery, Jewel Mountain Temple) and Vikrama shila (name of a monastery, Superb Conduct Temple, built by King Deva-pala) and Nalanda (Nà[lan da] len dra, name of a monastery). Especially after studying the sutras and tantras in the Jewel Mountain Temple (Ratna gi ri, place name), where there was no fear of foreign enemies, he realized that to achieve Buddhahood in one lifetime, one must have the unsurpassed secret mantra. In order to understand this without error, he needed the three sections of Mind Series (Semde Korsum, a classification of Nyingma teachings), and his tutelary deity prophesied that it was in Shambala (Shambha la, place name), so he intended to go to Shambala (Shambha la, place name). He traveled north with many merchants for about a month, and at the foot of a mountain he met a person with a very large body. That person asked him, 'Where are you going?' He replied, 'I am going to Shambala (Shambha la, place name) to listen to the Dharma from the Bodhisattva (Byang chub sems dpa', Bodhisattva).' That person said, 'You cannot go there, it will become an obstacle to your life. If you can fully understand everything here, you don't need to listen to the Dharma.' That person was the noble one ('Phags pa, honorific title). --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Recognizing him as an incarnation of Mañjuśrī, devotion and reverence arose. After prostrating and offering a mandala, he requested teachings. He bestowed empowerment, gave instructions, and explained the tantras, saying, 'May you understand the Dharma cycles of the Bodhisattvas.' Then, placing a flower on his head, he comprehended everything in his mind, and it is said that the master then vanished. Afterward, he once again traveled with merchants on a ship, returning to eastern India. Another account states that Cilupa Paṇḍita was the son of a yogi who had attained accomplishment. His father took him to Shambhala, where he met an incarnation of Avalokiteśvara, a very handsome monk, from whom he requested all empowerments and teachings. Through his blessing, he was able to memorize a thousand verses a day, mastering all the tantras and commentaries, and then went to India. He took ordination and became known as Cilupa. Later, this master resided at the place of the King of Kataka, where he had three disciples. They requested that the tantras and commentaries be written into books, and so they were written. One was an ordinary disciple, one was the accomplished Jāyakara Gupta, and one was Pito Ācārya, born in eastern Bhāgala, who was very learned, mastering all the Dharma cycles of the Bodhisattvas and putting them into practice. Afterward, that place was harmed by the armies of another king, and all the books were hidden in a pit, and they fled. After the war ended, they looked and found that the lower part of the commentary on the two tantras, Hevajra and Chakrasamvara, was missing. They requested it to be rewritten, but the ḍākinī said that because it was hidden by the ḍākinīs, it could not be rewritten, and she did not allow it, and then he returned to eastern India. There, he was also known as Pitovala Paṇḍita Ācārya. He taught these to the great Kālacakra, the master born in Varendra, who fully understood and put them into practice. Some say that through practicing Tārā, Kālacakra attained accomplishment and could ask Tārā for any wish. Tārā prophesied that he would go to Shambhala, and Avalokiteśvara greeted him on the way, taking him to the maṇḍala palace in the center of the Malaya garden, bestowing empowerment, explaining the tantras and commentaries, giving instructions and books, and then he returned to India. Afterward, he resided in the city called Puṣpagṛha in the east, and four excellent disciples appeared: the second Kālacakra and Dula. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
