It is not permissible. To completely cut off and abandon the root of samsara, ignorance, one must generate the wisdom that realizes selflessness, as mentioned above. Among the three principal aspects of the path, if one does not possess the wisdom that understands the nature of reality, even if one cultivates renunciation and bodhicitta, one will not be able to cut off the root of existence. Therefore, one must strive to understand the means of dependent origination. It is said. In a practice song, it is also said: 'The eye that sees the profound wisdom of suchness, is the path that uproots the root of existence, is the treasure of qualities praised by all the scriptures.' As it is said, it is very important to know. Here, if we explain the classification of views in detail, it may be too much, so we will only give a brief indication. In the Sutra Requested by Non-Hot, it says: 'Whatever is born from conditions is unborn, there is no nature of birth in it, whatever depends on conditions is said to be empty, whoever knows emptiness is mindful.' And the noble Nagarjuna said: 'Whatever is dependently originated is said to be emptiness, it is dependently imputed and also a middle way. Because there is no dharma that is not dependently originated, therefore there is no dharma that is not empty.' Aryadeva said: 'Whatever arises dependently, all of these are not independent, all of these are without independence, therefore there is no self.' As it is said. The meaning of these is that whatever depends on conditions is empty of its own nature. Having said this, what could be a more amazing instruction than this? As it is said. On top of all dharmas, refuting the truly established object to be refuted is the gathering place of all reasons. If we summarize its meaning, then all external and internal things arise from the aggregation of causes and conditions. These and all dharmas are also established on top of the aggregation of their respective parts. The parts are also established on top of their respective parts through conceptual thought, and then exist in name. If it does not depend on the parts, it is not established by its own power, so it is not truly established. If the basis of imputation were established without depending on the parts, then it would become truly established, self-established, and independently established, which is impossible. For example, a vase is its own mouth, base, belly, etc.

It is established on top of it, like a chariot is established on the assembly of its own limbs, like a house is established on the assembly of its own parts such as pillars and beams, this own body is established on the assembly of limbs, like the head is established on the assembly of skull, cheeks, etc., I am also established on the five aggregates or the assembly of body and mind, and the mind is also established on the assembly of consciousness, mental factors, and formations, like a mountain is established on the assembly of earth and stones, and a river is established on the assembly of tiny water particles. Even the atoms are mutually dependent and established in dependence on each other, they are merely imputed names, and there is not even a single atom that is independently established. Therefore, since it is not independently established, it is empty of inherent existence. For that which is empty of inherent existence, all actions such as samsara and nirvana are reasonable and can be established. If it were inherently established, it would be unchangeable, and all actions would be impossible. As it is said: "For that which is empty of inherent existence, actions are reasonable and not contradictory. Seeing the opposite of that, emptiness and action are both impossible. If there is action, there is no emptiness, and one is seen as falling into a dangerous abyss." Therefore, for the meaning of the inherently empty, imputed name, like an illusion, all the establishments of samsara and nirvana, such as cause and effect, are reasonable. It is difficult to establish the two truths as they are, but it is good to understand them with correct reasoning and certainty. Bodhicitta is established on the Mahayana mind of enlightenment. If explained in detail, it would be extensive, but to summarize, love, which desires to place all sentient beings in happiness, and compassion, which desires to save them from suffering, are definitely necessary as the cause of bodhicitta. And motivated by these two, all sentient beings should be placed in the non-abiding nirvana of the Buddhas. For that purpose, one must also attain the state of Buddhahood. Thinking in this way is not just a verbal expression, but if a genuine feeling arises in the mind, it is established as generating the mind of enlightenment. The benefits of love and compassion, especially the mind of enlightenment and the wisdom that realizes emptiness, are extensively explained in the sutras. Seeing that if one can cultivate them in union, it is the path of emptiness.
