I am, like a satisfying lover, a wife who touches the heart; like a mother, a wife who wishes to benefit her husband; like a maidservant, a wife who is obedient to her husband. These four types of wives, according to the ancient divine tradition, as explained in the extensive commentary, are the cause of the family's non-decline. They should be honored as... When eating, one should partake as if taking medicine, through reason, that is, through cognition and understanding, without attachment to what is delicious and without aversion to what is not delicious. One should eat in this way. One does not eat to become fat, nor to be arrogant and proud, nor to make the body radiant and beautiful. Then why does one eat? One eats to maintain the body, so as to perform virtuous deeds. Because of engaging in virtue, the king is called a rational being. You should listen throughout the day and during the watches of the night, and repeatedly review the virtuous teachings within them. By doing so, not only will you accomplish virtuous deeds while awake, but you will also not be without fruit even while sleeping. With mindfulness, contemplate during the watches of night and dawn. May other beings have loving-kindness with happiness, compassion wishing them to be free from suffering, joy rejoicing in their happiness, and equanimity wishing them to be free from attachment and aversion. These four immeasurables, not just a little, but should be constantly and correctly cultivated. If you cultivate in this way, even if you do not immediately attain the higher state of Buddhahood, you will attain the bliss of the king of gods, Brahma's realm. One should abandon one's own desires, thoughts, joy, happiness, and suffering. According to the commentary, the first abandons desire, the second abandons thought, the third abandons joy, and the fourth abandons both happiness and suffering. Through cultivating these four dhyanas, the first dhyana attains the realms of Brahma's retinue, Brahma's ministers, and Great Brahma; the second dhyana attains the realms of lesser light, immeasurable light, and clear light; the third dhyana attains the realms of lesser virtue, immeasurable virtue, and abundant virtue; the fourth dhyana attains the realms of cloudless and meritorious results.

May the gods of the three great sons receive an equal share. Whether it is virtuous or non-virtuous, always doing it, and especially liking intense attachment, and the antidote that prevents both of these, however, (this) is called the unfavorable aspect of virtue and the favorable aspect of non-virtue, which is non-existent. A special person, possessing merits, possessing a primary basis, a basis that benefits oneself, the karma arising from benefiting or harming a person is: whether it is virtuous or non-virtuous, if it is combined with the previous five aspects, it is the great of the great. If it is mixed with half of these five, it is the middle of the great. If it is mixed with only one, it is the small of the great, and it should be known how to combine the two, virtuous and non-virtuous, separately. From these two sets of five aspects, strive to practice the five aspects related to virtuous deeds. However, like "because of that," it means "because of that reason." For example, a few ounces of salt can change the taste of a small amount of water, but cannot change the taste of rivers like the Ganges. Similarly, even some small sinful actions are like what is said, "the roots of virtue are vast," the meaning is the same. Please know that the great (karma) is sometimes vast and can overwhelm (other karmas). Similarly, a small virtuous act cannot overwhelm a large non-virtuous act, and a small non-virtuous act cannot overwhelm a large virtuous act, showing that the great can overwhelm the small. And, the karmas themselves are combined with each other in this way, however, it is said that many small (karmas) can prolong one large (karma). Mental agitation and regret, harmful thoughts and mental dullness, sleep and desire for sensual pleasures, and doubt are afflictions. That is, regret and agitation are combined into one, and sinking and dullness are also combined into one, becoming five, these five obscurations are like thieves who steal virtuous wealth, please know. Having faith in the Three Jewels and the law of karma and the Four Noble Truths, etc., and diligence in rejoicing in virtuous deeds, and mindfulness of remembering virtuous objects, and samadhi of the mind abiding on the object, and wisdom that completely distinguishes the Dharma, are the five supreme Dharmas.
