Regarding the phenomena of things, contemplate well with the wisdom that examines the ultimate meaning, and thus properly contemplate the meaning of emptiness. Make this practice familiar. Like this practice, there are no other teachings that possess equal qualities or great benefits, let alone many, even a few. This is a praise. Some individuals may be of noble birth, have beautiful forms, and be well-versed in many common disciplines, but if they lack the wisdom that actualizes the inner meaning and are devoid of discipline, they are not worthy of respect by the wise. Therefore, if someone possesses the wisdom to discern the meaning of scriptures and the merit of training in discipline, then even if that person lacks other qualities such as lineage and appearance, they are worthy of offering. Calling the king "Knower of the World," whether one obtains desired objects or not, whether one experiences happiness or unhappiness through any of the three doors, whether one hears pleasant or unpleasant sounds, whether one is praised or blamed by others, if one abides in these eight worldly dharmas, one cannot escape samsara. As a lord of men, do not be biased in your mind towards what you desire and do not desire. Just as one does not want what one does not get, one should not want what one gets. Similarly, one should want what one does not get as if one gets it. You should know all this with equanimity. O King, do not commit evil deeds in order to make offerings to monks, Brahmins, and gods, or to provide for guests, parents, children, and consorts, or to support your retinue. If you do commit evil deeds, when you fall into hell and experience suffering, there will be no one else to receive the karmic consequences of hell, the share of suffering. You alone must bear it. Some evil deeds do not immediately ripen into their consequences, cutting like a knife, but when that person faces death, the suffering that is the karmic result of that evil deed will become manifest in the next life and will be known. Have faith in the Three Jewels and in karma and its effects, and possess discipline.

Giving and generosity, hearing many scriptures, one's own stainless sense of shame, and the modesty of considering others' shame, the wisdom to distinguish between meaning and non-meaning, these seven are the seven riches of the noble ones, spoken by the capable one, which the wise should fully possess. Holding gold, silver, and other illusory wealth is having an end of exhaustion, and is the cause of samsara and the lower realms, therefore one should understand that it has no meaning. Watching whatever gambling one pleases and gatherings of many people, being extremely lazy and relying on sinful friends, drinking alcohol and wandering around towns at night, these vagrants go to the lower realms, and in this life their reputation will also be ruined, therefore one should abandon these six faults. Among all wealth, contentment with whatever one obtains is the best and most excellent wealth, as said by the teacher of gods and humans, the Buddha. Therefore, in all circumstances one should have contentment, and if one knows and has contentment, even if one does not possess any wealth, that person is truly wealthy, and this principle can be understood from the Sutra Requested by Ugra. Because of his gentle nature, the king was called "Ugra," and even if he had much property, if he was not content, how would it become suffering. People with few desires and contentment are not so miserable. For example, the best of the dragon kings, having as many as nine heads, the suffering arising from that heaviness is also that much. Just as having many heads and great strength leads to suffering, it shows that suffering is even greater due to having much wealth. Some women are like executioners, like natural enemies to their husbands, some are like queens who despise the family, that is, like masters, and some are like thieves who steal the big and small wealth of their own home. These three kinds of wives should be completely abandoned. So which one should one rely on? A wife who is obedient like a sister by listening to her husband's words, etc.
