If that precious jewel is lost due to not guarding it, then because of losing it, wanting to obtain the jewel, one will always suffer. Likewise, when entering the supreme Bodhi, one should not abandon the yoga of this Prajnaparamita which is like a precious jewel. If one abandons it, one will suffer in samsara. For example, just as a person who finds a precious jewel, takes it, wraps it with great effort, guards it, and makes offerings, that person quickly becomes wealthy, so too, if a yogi does not separate himself from this path, he will quickly attain the peace of Nirvana. For example, the sun, free from clouds, with a network of rays, destroys all thick darkness, and with its rising light, overwhelms all fireflies and creatures, all other beings, the assembly of stars, and the light of the moon. Similarly, a Bodhisattva who practices the supreme Prajnaparamita, a wise person who practices emptiness and signlessness, destroys all the thick darkness of worldly views, and overwhelms all other beings, as well as Shravakas, Pratyekabuddhas, Arhats, and many other Bodhisattvas. For example, a prince who gives wealth to others and desires to benefit them through generosity, that person becomes the leader of all and deserves to be honored and attended to. This prince, even if he has not been appointed as king, can still make many sentient beings happy now. If he ever obtains the rule of the kingdom and abides in the royal throne, how much more will he be able to make many others happy! Similarly, a Bodhisattva who is skilled in practicing Prajnaparamita also bestows the nectar of Dharma on others, benefiting and delighting gods and humans. This Bodhisattva, even now, strives to benefit many sentient beings. If he abides in the state of the Dharma King, the Buddha, how much more will he benefit others! When a Bodhisattva benefits others with the Dharma, the evil demon is displeased, his heart is filled with the sting of suffering, he grieves, speaks pitiable words, his mind is unhappy due to suffering, and his body becomes weak, thinking, 'How can I make this Bodhisattva's mind have doubt and hesitation towards the Dharma?'

Thinking, "It will change," in order to show fear to that Bodhisattva, they burn the directions with fire and send shooting stars. However, whenever those wise Bodhisattvas are endowed with the power of intensely strong thoughts of loving-kindness and compassion, and day and night constantly contemplate and meditate on the meaning of the supreme Prajnaparamita, their body and mind, like birds going in the sky, enter into emptiness and abide. For the Bodhisattva who abides in emptiness and walks, the retinue of demons with the black forces as their root, even if they seek an opportunity, how could they ever find an opportunity? They will not find it. Whenever some Bodhisattvas quarrel and dispute, and become discordant with each other, and are endowed with angry minds, the retinue of demons become supremely happy and feel very comfortable. They think, "Both of those Bodhisattvas will become distant from the wisdom of the Victorious Ones. Both of them will become far from attaining Buddhahood and will become like flesh-eaters." These two will degenerate from their own vows, and for those who are full of hatred and devoid of patience, where will the enlightenment of the Buddhas be? Thinking this, at that time the demons and their retinues will become happy. If an ordinary Bodhisattva who has not received a prophecy becomes angry with a Bodhisattva who has received a prophecy and starts a dispute, then for as many moments as there are of a mind endowed with the fault of intense anger, for that many eons he will dwell in hell, and again from the beginning he must put on armor and study the path. That is because anger destroys the power of rapid growth and makes it distant. That Bodhisattva should think, "The Buddha has said that by meditating on the perfection of patience, one touches enlightenment, that is, attains it. Therefore, this mind of anger, devoid of patience, is not good." He should generate such a thought, and enumerate the faults of impatience one by one, and make a vow not to do it again in the future, and not to delight in anger. That is what it means to study this Dharma of the Buddha, the Prajnaparamita. In general, among the three poisons, hatred has the greatest faults, and especially anger towards special objects such as lamas and Bodhisattvas has extremely great faults, therefore patience is very important.
