It also pervades and exists. At that time, it becomes one with the ten directions and the dharmas existing therein, and there are no differences of essentially different kinds. Similarly, whether it is the Suchness of the three times—past, future, and present—or whether it is the true emptiness of all dharmas of the Hearers, Solitary Realizers, and Arhats, since all of these are of the same essence as the Suchness of the Victorious Ones, therefore, the Suchness of dharmas has no distinctions of different kinds in all dharmas. This is explained in the Ornament [for Clear Realization] by "afflictions, signs, and characteristics," etc. These explain the characteristics of self-nature, while the liberation aspect is indicated by the Sugata's Bodhi, etc. The Sugata and its Bodhi, the two Suchnesses, are inseparable in essence and devoid of different dharmas. This refers to any Bodhisattva who wishes to attain Bodhi, who should cultivate Prajnaparamita through the means of generosity, etc. If there is no guiding Prajnaparamita, it is not possible to attain the Bodhi of the Buddha by other means alone. For example, if a bird's body becomes huge, reaching one hundred and fifty yojanas, but its wings are exhausted and it has no ability to fly, if that bird jumps from the Thirty-Three Heavens to Jambudvipa, it will be injured and die at the place of jumping. Similarly, the first five practices of the Victorious Ones' perfections must also be cultivated for many billions of kalpas, and constantly rely on infinite and vast aspirations in the world, but without the special means—the mind of Bodhi—and being separated from this Prajnaparamita, one will fall into the path of Hearers and Solitary Realizers. This is explained in the Ornament [for Clear Realization] by "non-sign complete generosity, etc." Then, the definitive emergence aspect is indicated by the Buddha Vehicle, etc. Any Bodhisattva who wishes to definitively arise and attain the Buddha Vehicle should tame his mind with equanimity towards all beings, with the perception of parents, with a mind of benefit and a heart of love, without anger, with an upright mind, and speak with gentle words.

This is explained in the Ornament, with "faith in objects such as the Buddha," etc. Then, the signs of non-retrogression are explained, and there are very many sutra words in the three Mothers for this. Here, it is summarized that the signs of non-retrogression of the three paths of accumulation, seeing, and meditation are requested with four lines such as "qualities like the ocean." That is, the venerable Subhuti completely asked the Protector of the World. You who have qualities like the ocean, the signs of a bodhisattva, such as the signs of body and speech without afflictions, etc. And how those bodhisattvas of great power will not turn back from complete enlightenment. Although its qualities are many, only a part of it is commonly taught by the Buddhas. In response to that question, among the three paths of accumulation, seeing, and meditation, the first is the sign of the path of accumulation: "free from the notion of difference," etc., is shown by three verses: free from the notion of grasping at differences in self and others, and speaking words that are reasonable and logical. And not relying on other non-Buddhists and other Brahmins. Being skilled in what to accept and reject, at all times, one always strives to find a way not to be born in the three lower realms, and thus abandons birth in them. Those bodhisattvas are always diligently striving on the path of the ten virtuous actions. Without the mind of desiring wealth for one's own sake, one teaches the holy Dharma to beings. One is always happy to practice the holy Dharma without changing. And one always has gentle words for other beings. And when walking, sleeping, and sitting with beings, one has mindfulness in all four actions. The eyes look within the range of the yoke, and even though one sees various beings, the mind is not confused by afflictions. One's own mind is not stained by non-virtue, so one makes the mind pure, and the body wears clean clothes, and the three doors of body, speech, and mind are free from the faults of wrongdoing and are pure. One does not desire gain just for one's own sake, and the best of men always desires the Dharma. Having transcended the realm of Mara, one does not care about their feelings because one does not depend on others. One meditates on the four concentrations, but even though one meditates on concentration, one is not attached to or dwells in the bliss of concentration. These are the signs of the path of accumulation.
