Raro. Although one cannot actually give away one's body now, one must repeatedly train in the thought of giving away one's body, possessions, and roots of virtue to others, and it is said that the benefits of training are also great. Third, there are three classifications: how all supports should act, the classification based on each support, and the classification of the nature of giving. First, one must do the six perfections of support and the six perfections of pāramitā. The first is perfect support, perfect object, perfect purpose, perfect skillful means, perfect dedication, and perfect purity. The first is to act by being motivated in every way by bodhicitta. The second is that the object of giving is perfect. The third is for the benefit of all sentient beings. The fourth is to be seized by the wisdom that realizes emptiness. The fifth is to dedicate to perfect enlightenment. The sixth is to eliminate the two obscurations. The second, the six perfections of pāramitā, will be explained in common below. The second is that, in general, material giving should be done by householders, and Dharma giving should be done by renunciants, but if it does not harm virtuous practice, then renunciants should also do material giving. Third, there are three types of giving: Dharma giving, fearlessness giving, and material giving. The first is to teach the sacred Dharma well, as well as to teach other arts and sciences, and to make them the basis of learning. The second is to protect from the fear of kings, thieves, lions, tigers, etc., and from the fear of fire, water, etc. The third is divided into two: actually giving material things, and giving only in thought. The first has three: the way of giving material things, what to do when one cannot give, and relying on the antidote to the obstacles of giving. The first has four: the basis of who to give to, the intention of giving, how to give, and the object to be given. The first is all enemies, friends, neutrals, those with and without qualities, the rich and the poor, and especially impoverished sentient beings. The second is divided into general and specific, the first is the object of thought that is necessary to attain Buddhahood, and the object of considering one's own property as the property of others, and the giving of

Thinking that these places will perfect my giving is focusing on the field, these are the three. Second is the specific intention: giving with love towards those who harm, compassion towards those who suffer, and respect towards those who have virtues. When giving to someone of lower status, giving with affection brings great benefit. It is said that giving that harms the recipient brings little benefit. Furthermore, one must have the intention of being free from wrong views, free from arrogance, not seeking fame, without discouragement, without partiality, not expecting a return, and not looking at the ripening of enjoyment. Third, regarding the act of giving, there are two: How not to give is not to give quickly even when giving, or to give after causing suffering, or to give after forcing someone to do inappropriate work, or to give while counting favors, etc. In short, one should not give in ways that are inconsistent with the Dharma. How to give is to give with a smiling face, with one's own hands, and with actions that do not harm others and bring joy. The result is: in the future, one will become wealthy, the accumulation of merit will be perfected, and so on, there are many. Fourth, regarding the objects, there are two: a brief explanation of the objects and a detailed explanation. First, if giving that object benefits either the present or the future, or both, that is good, and if giving benefits the present but harms the future, one should not give. Second, regarding the giving and not giving of internal and external objects, there are two: first, if one understands how not to give internal objects, one will also understand how to give, therefore there are three aspects to this: not giving from the perspective of time, not giving from the perspective of need, and not giving from the perspective of the beggar. First, a Bodhisattva must give up everything, including the body, when the time is right, but one should not give up things like the body until the mind of great compassion has grown. Second, even if giving up the body, one should not give it up for a small need. Third, one should not give to those who beg out of malice, such as non-humans or demons. If there are no such prohibitions, one should give even things like the body. Second, regarding the explanation of giving and not giving external objects, there are two: not giving external objects and the way of giving. First, there are five: time
