Generally, thinking, and thinking separately, and the method of taking and abandoning after thinking. The first part has two aspects: the actual and the analytically separated thinking. The first part has four aspects: the certainty of karma, the increase of karma, not encountering what has not been done, and not wasting what has been done. The first aspect is: whether the being is ordinary or noble, whether the ripening happiness is large or small, it is the result of virtuous karma; whether the suffering is large or small, it is the result of non-virtuous karma. It is impossible for happiness to arise from non-virtuous karma, and it is impossible for ripening suffering to arise from virtuous karma. As the Protector Nagarjuna said in the Precious Garland: All sufferings arise from non-virtue, likewise all evil destinies are the same. All good deeds give rise to good destinies, and happiness in all lives. Thus it is said. Happiness and suffering do not arise without cause, nor do they arise from dissimilar causes such as Ishvara and Vishnu, but from the general and specific of virtue and non-virtue. The fruits of each karma, happiness and suffering, do not mix with each other, just as the fruits of barley and wheat do not mix when they arise. In this way, the certainty of believing that karma is not deceptive is the correct view of all Buddhists, and the benefits are also great. The Sutra says: The correct view of worldly people, whoever possesses it, that person will not fall into evil destinies for thousands of kalpas. Therefore it is said. The increase of karma is: even from small virtuous and non-virtuous karma, extremely great happiness and suffering results will arise, such increase does not exist in external cause and effect. Not encountering what has not been done is: if the cause of experiencing happiness and suffering has not been created, then its result will never be experienced. Not wasting what has been done is: The Vinaya Sutra says: The body, even after hundreds of thousands of kalpas, will not be wasted, once the causes and conditions and time are gathered, the fruits will ripen on sentient beings. Thus it is said, if there is no antidote such as confession, then whether the result is large or small, it will appear once the time is ripe. Second, there are two aspects to thinking separately and analytically: mainly explaining the ten virtuous paths of action, and explaining karma and its results. The first aspect is: In general, there are many classifications of virtuous and non-virtuous actions, but the important ones are summarized into ten aspects to explain. The Abhidharmakosha says: From this, summarize and condense, for the various virtuous and non-virtuous actions, these are the paths of action.

So it is said. As it is said. Secondly, there are three: the result of black karma, the result of white karma, and the explanation of other classifications of karma. First, there are three: the actual path of karma, its weight, and its results. The first is: If analyzed, there are four: basis, intention, action, and completion. The basis for killing is sentient beings. Intention has three aspects: perception, which is, regarding something like a sentient being as a sentient being or not perceiving it as a sentient being, and regarding something that is not a sentient being as such or perceiving it as such, these are the four. The first and third perceptions are confused, while the second and fourth are not confused. Accidental killing does not involve a root downfall, but if there is any intention to kill, generally engaging in the intention, even if the perception is confused, it will generate a root downfall. This method should be understood accordingly for the remaining nine as well. Affliction is any of the three poisons. The intention of the cause is the desire to kill. In terms of action, the actor is oneself or another, and the nature of the action is done by any means such as weapons, poison, or mantras. Completion is that due to that cause, one dies before the other. Secondly, the basis for taking what is not given is an object held by another. Intention has three aspects: perception and affliction are as before. The intention is the desire to take what is not given. The actor is as before, and the nature of the action is the same whether it is forcibly plundered or stolen. Completion is the arising of the thought of having obtained it. Thirdly, the basis for sexual misconduct is said to be four: women with whom it is not permissible to have intercourse, non-genital parts of men, improper places, and improper times. If differentiated, there are many, but if summarized, it is the basis for emitting semen depending on women and men, etc. Intention has three aspects: perception is either confused or not confused, similar or dissimilar. Affliction is as before, and the intention is the desire to engage in non-celibate conduct. Action is striving for that purpose. Completion is the emission of semen. Fourthly, the basis for false speech is that the other party is a sentient being who understands the meaning. Intention has three aspects: perception is, unless it is for benefit, changing the perception of seeing to not seeing, and not seeing to seeing, etc. Affliction is the three poisons.
