Etc. are shown, which is a slightly difficult point. The term "verses" appears, which, although not verses in Tibetan, is considered in terms of being able to arrange them into verses in Sanskrit. Grasping refers to holding the words in mind, and it can also refer to holding a book in hand and reciting it. Truly explaining refers to speaking the words and explaining them well. Showing refers to showing the meaning well, which is done in terms of the main aspect. If one does grasping etc. in this way, one will generate an immeasurable and countless accumulation of merit from it. The reason is that giving the gift of Dharma is more beneficial than giving the gift of material things. Moreover, the Bodhi of the perfectly complete Buddha is obtained and arises from this Prajnaparamita, which elucidates the meaning of emptiness, the subject matter of this text. The Buddhas, the Bhagavat, also arise from practicing this. It is so in conventional truth, but it is impossible to obtain in ultimate truth. The so-called qualities of the Buddhas, such as the ten powers of the Buddhas, are merely nominal designations, but in ultimate truth, they do not exist, as the Tathagata has said. However, only in conventional truth are the qualities of the Buddhas designated as this and that. Whatever fruit the Hearer-Aryas obtain, they obtain it after realizing selflessness. It is impossible to obtain it without realizing it. Showing this is because the Venerable Subhuti thought, "I have obtained the fruit of stream-entry," and whether he clings to it as real and thinks in this way. The Buddha said, "Subhuti, it is not so." The reason is that the stream-enterer has not entered into anything that should be entered into in ultimate truth. But in conventional truth, because he has entered into the stream of the path of liberation, he is called a stream-enterer. In ultimate truth, he has not entered into anything, and he has not entered into grasping onto form, sound, smell, taste, touch, and phenomena in ultimate truth. In the great commentary of the later treatises, this passage is quoted, saying that if a stream-enterer clings to the fruit of the obtainable and the obtained as real, thinking, "I have obtained the fruit of stream-entry," then that itself will become grasping at self.

Regarding the clinging to reality and the clinging to self in relation to persons and results, the first is the clinging to the self of persons, and the second is the clinging to the self of phenomena. The stream-enterer does not cling to things as being truly existent, nor does he think that he has attained the result. This is said in terms of refuting the object of clinging to reality, but it does not mean that there is no innate clinging. As it is said in the scriptures, "Therefore, the later ones should also be understood." The meaning is that in order to attain the result of separation from the four, such as the stream-enterer, which is the cessation truth, it is necessary to realize emptiness. For this, it is explained that one must refute the object of clinging to reality after realizing the absence of reality. Therefore, whether or not one has experienced the refutation of the object of clinging to reality is determined by whether or not one has experienced the realization of the absence of reality. As long as one engages in contemplating whether or not something is truly established, one cannot transcend the clinging to reality. Therefore, one cannot refute the object of clinging to reality, and thus one is bound by the clinging to reality. Similarly, apply this to the once-returner, the non-returner, and the arhat, as it is said, and the meaning is the same as before. Each of the four, such as the stream-enterer, has an enterer and a fruit-stayer, so if they are separated, there are eight types of persons, and if each pair is combined, there are four pairs of individuals. There are many explanations for these four, but just to give a brief indication: the result of the stream-enterer's ascetic practice, the cessation truth, is established through abandoning the three fetters to be abandoned by seeing. Therefore, attaining such a result and abiding in it is called the fruit-stayer of the stream-enterer, and striving and entering for the sake of attaining it is called the enterer of that. The three fetters are: the view of the perishable body, clinging to ethics and rituals, and doubt, which is a mental affliction. Although the view of the perishable body is innate, here it is imputed. The result of the once-returner is established from the perspective of abandoning the sixth affliction of the desire realm. Abiding in that is its fruit-stayer, and diligently entering for the sake of attaining that is its enterer. The result of the non-returner is established from the perspective of abandoning the ninth affliction of the desire realm. Abiding in that and entering for the sake of that are the fruit-stayer and the enterer. The result of the arhat is established from the perspective of abandoning the ninth affliction of the peak of existence. For that result
