The collection of five hundreds called this is five hundred. It is said that the Blessed One's teachings will remain for five hundred five hundreds, and the five hundreds mentioned refer to the teachings remaining for two thousand five hundred years. There are many different ways of explaining the duration of the teachings in the Sutras and commentaries. Some say that the teachings of the Thupa will remain for one thousand, two thousand, two thousand five hundred, and five thousand years, but their meanings are not contradictory. The way they are not contradictory is that some refer to the time of fruition and practice, and some refer to the time of scriptural transmission. Some are clearly referring to the situation in the Holy Land. Such Bodhisattvas are like the six ornaments of the world in the Holy Land, and in Tibet, they are like Sakya Pandita, Buton Master, and the three Jetsun fathers and sons. At that time, whatever sentient beings, let alone having great faith in hearing and contemplating the scriptures that teach the Prajnaparamita Sutras, if they merely find and generate a single moment of joy, then those sentient beings, from now on, the Tathagata knows and sees them, and those sentient beings will generate and accumulate immeasurable accumulations of merit. Knowing is thinking, and seeing is form, etc. What is the reason for this? Because these Bodhisattvas will not engage in the manifest conceptualizations that truly grasp at self, sentient beings, life, and person. The meanings of the words self and person, etc., are as explained above. For example, Kashi's belief that there is a self, thinking "I am," is the thought of self. Thinking that there is what belongs to me is the thought of sentient beings. Grasping at the duration of the self's existence is the thought of life. Grasping at being reborn again and again is the thought of person. The grasping at what belongs to me is slightly different from the previous one. Not engaging in such coarse conceptualizations refers to the state of realizing selflessness. Not only do they not engage in grasping at self, etc., with true clinging, but also for forms, etc., they do not truly grasp at them as phenomena in name, nor do they truly grasp at them as non-existent phenomena, because they do not engage in such conceptualizations of existence and non-existence.

It is also acceptable. Another way is, the mundane dharmas such as form, and the mundane dharmas also do not have a concept of clinging to truth in the absence of truth, it can also be explained for this purpose. If such a concept arises, it will become a fault, if the concept of dharma arises, etc., and if the concept of selflessness of dharma arises, etc. are related. Also, the Dharma should not be wrongly grasped, because the non-Dharma should not be grasped either. The Dharma mentioned here refers to the sacred Dharma of the scriptures, which should not be wrongly grasped with clinging to truth; non-Dharma refers to non-sacred Dharma, such as the scriptures of non-Buddhists, which should not be grasped. If explained in this way, it seems that it needs to be examined. Because of that reason, the Tathagata, considering that reason, said that this category of scriptural Dharma is like a boat, just as a boat is not needed when it reaches the other shore of the water, the noble ones who have reached the other shore, the means of obtaining the fruit, like the collection of scriptures, the dharmas should also be abandoned and discarded when the fruit is obtained, let alone abandoning the non-sacred dharmas. That is because when the fruit is obtained, the need has been completed, so that kind of scripture is not necessary for oneself, and it means that it does not depend on it. Also, the Blessed One said to Subhuti, do you think that there is any Dharma that the Tathagata has realized in the unexcelled, perfect, and complete enlightenment, and that the Dharma that has been spoken has been taught? Subhuti replied, I understand the meaning of what the Blessed One said, as I know, in the ultimate truth, there is no Dharma that has become a Buddha and has been taught. What is the reason for this? Because the Tathagata has realized it himself in name, and has attained perfect and complete enlightenment, or has spoken the Dharma in name, but in the ultimate truth, there is no Dharma that has become a Buddha and has been spoken by him, and the emptiness of those truths, just as it exists in the appearance of the samadhi of the noble ones, cannot be grasped by the common consciousness of names. The nature of freedom from elaboration cannot be expressed in words, because those are not Dharma in the ultimate truth, and there is no Dharma in name, that is, it does not exist.
