This is an explanation of the measure of refutation for the examination of the ultimate. As it is said in the Root Wisdom: Because there is no dharma that does not depend on arising, therefore there is no dharma that is not emptiness. In short, when searching for the meaning referred to by self or person, although it cannot be found, in conventional terms, it is reasonable to act like illusion and emanation, and all dharmas are the same. As it is said in the Compendium: How I am, all sentient beings should know that; how all sentient beings are, all dharmas should know that. And in the Samadhiraja Sutra it is also said: How you know the concept of self, likewise, with wisdom, treat all. Similarly, the dharmas of giving, etc., are only nominal designations, but apart from that, considering that one must know the emptiness of self-nature, it is said that one should give alms without clinging to anything. It is important to know this key point, that as long as one is not liberated from the bondage of clinging to reality and has not realized the meaning of emptiness, even if the Buddha himself directly takes care of them, one cannot attain liberation. As the Protector Nagarjuna said: Those who do not understand emptiness, they cannot rely on liberation, in the prison of the six realms of existence, the ignorant will revolve here. Aryadeva also said: Those who have a concept of reality have no liberation. There are many others. What was said above is that no truly existing sentient being can attain nirvana, therefore there is a reason to generate bodhicitta. Why is that? Shakyamuni Buddha called Subhuti and said, if a bodhisattva has a concept of a truly existing sentient being for a sentient being, then that bodhisattva cannot be called a bodhisattva who has realized selflessness. Why is that? If a bodhisattva has a concept of a truly existing sentient being for a sentient being, or a concept of life, that is, a living being, or a true clinging to a person, then he cannot be called a bodhisattva who knows selflessness. The Introduction says: If the ultimate bodhicitta does not arise in the continuum, one cannot be called an ultimate bodhisattva, which means that one has not directly realized emptiness

It means that one should not be called a true Bodhisattva. Here, because there are Bodhisattvas in both accumulations, it is spoken in that regard. The meaning of the word "sentient being" is: a being with a mind that constantly suffers in samsara. Life refers to the state that exists in this life until the completion of the same kind and equal fortune. Pudgala is spoken of as filling the continuum due to inferior karmic habits and flowing in samsara. Although the word "I" does not appear here, it will appear below, and I refers to the basis for the arising of ego-grasping with the thought "I am." As stated in the commentary on the Compendium of Trainings. These are synonyms for the name of Pudgala. However, if it is a Pudgala, it does not necessarily possess the above meanings. There are also differences in the scope of sentient beings and Pudgala. After generating the mind in this way, the way to learn behavior is: taking giving as an example, it also shows that one should learn the other perfections. First is giving: Again, Subhuti, the Bodhisattva practices giving without abiding in things. The "things" here refer to the object of giving, that is, without clinging to the three wheels of the object of giving, the giving, and the recipient, one practices giving. This is said in the Aspiration of Maitreya: Without abiding in all things, may I give generously without stinginess! And: Who gives, to whom does one give, how does one not fixate on giving, thus it is said. Also, as it is said in the Introduction to the Middle Way: Giving, the object of giving, and the receiver are empty of inherent existence, this is called the perfection of transcendence of the world. If attachment arises to these three, then it is taught as the perfection of transcendence of the world. It means that giving that is grasped by the wisdom that directly realizes the emptiness of the three wheels of giving is the perfection of giving that transcends the world; giving that is not grasped by it is the worldly perfection. The former is possessed by the noble ones, and the latter is possessed by ordinary beings. If one has not entered the path, although there is giving, there is no perfection of giving, and the other five perfections are the same. Like striving for giving, it is the way to abide; not clinging to its three wheels as real is the way to practice; focusing one's mind on the wisdom that realizes emptiness is the way to concentrate.
