Therefore, in conventional terms, it is called by name. The meaning of the sound of an individual is: because beings are born separately and differently due to the power of karma, it is explained in this way. Again, the Lord asked Subhuti: Do you think that just because one has perfect marks and signs, one should regard him as the Tathagata and wish for it? "འམ་ (Tibetan)" and "མམ་ (Tibetan)" are only differences in translation, and there is no difference in meaning. Subhuti replied: It is not like that. Although something similar has happened before, it was not for the purpose of mainly showing the Dharmakaya, but here it is asked again for the purpose of showing the Dharmakaya. The Lord said: Yes, yes, one should not regard him as the Tathagata just because he has marks and signs. Subhuti, if one looks at it that way, then the Chakravartin king also has marks and signs, so it must be thought that he is the Tathagata, and if he is not thought of in this way, then just because he has perfect marks and signs, one should not regard him as the Tathagata and wish for it. After saying that, Subhuti said: As I understand the meaning of what the Lord said, one should not look at it like that. The Chakravartin king has thirty-two marks, but they are not obvious and complete, while the marks and signs of the Buddha are obvious and complete. As it is said in the sutra: Chakravartin kings, it is thought that they all have these, and, the marks of the Buddha abide in the place, surpassing with clarity and perfection. Therefore, by showing the Rupakaya, the Dharmakaya is shown. The Lord said in the form of a verse: Those who see me in the form of Rupakaya, and so on. The meaning of this is in the commentary on the Root Wisdom of the Middle Way, where Je Tsongkhapa himself quoted this sutra and explained it: The meaning of these words is that if one clings to the phenomena of illusion such as form and sound as real, then one is wrongly entering and abandoning the Suchness of the Buddha. Therefore, he does not see the Suchness of the Buddha, so the Suchness of the Buddha should be regarded as Dharmata and Dharmakaya. The Dharmakaya is not to be known in the way it was previously clung to, because it cannot be known in that way, thus showing and

As it is said in the sutra, "Due to attachment, the eye of wisdom is dimmed, therefore one cannot see the suchness of the Tathagata." The meaning of the words is: If sentient beings see the marks and characteristics of the Tathagata, they see me with a true attachment to the form body, which is attachment; if sentient beings hear my name, etc., and truly understand me through verbal expression, that is attachment. In short, if one is attached to the name and form body of the Tathagata as real, and is bound by the attachment to reality, then these people have a wrong view of the Dharmakaya of the Tathagata, and these people cannot see the emptiness of the Dharmakaya of the Tathagata. The reason for not being able to see it is that the Dharmakaya Svabhavikakaya of the Buddhas must be regarded as the Dharmata Kaya. The Dharmakaya of the guide Buddhas, that is, the Dharmata Paramarthasatya, is not to be understood by the wisdom bound by the attachment to reality, because the Dharmakaya cannot be fully understood by the wisdom. To know the emptiness of the Dharmakaya of the Buddha, one must realize emptiness. From this, it can be inferred that if there is attachment to reality in any dharma, one cannot see the dharmata of that dharma. Whether it is any dharma of conventional truth such as form, etc., when it is directly realized, it must appear in the manner of having elaboration; and when directly realizing the ultimate truth of the dharmata of these dharmas, it must be realized in the manner of cutting off elaboration. The difference in the way of seeing these two truths is a difficult point to understand. Moreover, even if one does not directly realize the unreality of any dharma, but when understanding the dharma in a general way, although elaboration will appear in the appearance of that wisdom, elaboration must be cut off in determination. The summary of its meaning is: If speaking from the perspective of the Dharmakaya, the Tathagata will not attain unsurpassed Bodhi merely by relying on the perfection of marks and characteristics. To prevent nihilistic views, Subhuti, do not think that if people who have entered the Bodhisattva path understand that any dharma such as form, etc., is not established in the ultimate sense, they will analyze or destroy that dharma with reason, thereby falling into annihilation.
