There are three fundamental divisions: merging death with the Dharmakaya, merging the bardo with the Sambhogakaya, and merging rebirth with the Nirmanakaya. Therefore, each of these also has three aspects: merging with the three Kayas of the waking state, merging with the three Kayas of the sleeping state, and merging with the three Kayas of the dying state. First, these three have distinctions: in the waking state, combining bliss and emptiness and meditating, this is merging with the Dharmakaya of the waking state. Rising from that, visualizing the causal body, whether real or similar, as Vajradhara, this is merging with the Sambhogakaya of the waking state. Visualizing that same ripened aggregate as Vajradhara, entering into its heart in the manner of the wisdom mind, this is merging with the Nirmanakaya of the waking state. Second, these three have distinctions: transforming the clear light of the sleeping state into the clear light of the path and meditating, this is merging with the Dharmakaya. Visualizing the special body of the dream state as Vajradhara, this is merging with the Sambhogakaya. That same aggregate of the sleeping state, visualizing it as a deity, entering into its heart, this is merging with the Nirmanakaya. Third, these three Kayas have distinctions: transforming the fourth emptiness clear light of the dying state into the clear light of the path, this is merging with the Dharmakaya. From that clear light, arising as the illusory body as a substitute for the bardo, or accomplishing the bardo, visualizing that as the illusory body, this is merging with the Sambhogakaya. That same basis for practicing mantras, taking rebirth into a special body, this is merging rebirth with the Nirmanakaya. The basis for accomplishing the illusory body is the two subtle winds and minds that are the basis with four times, that is, as stated in the five stages: "All beings have no freedom, they do not arise independently, its cause is clear light, all clear light is emptiness." As it is said, in the base stage, the cause of the bardo body being accomplished from the wind and mind of the clear light of death, transforming it into the path through skillful means, thereby the illusory body is accomplished. Just as at the time of death, due to the force of karma, the knots of the channels are released, and the karmic winds dissolve into the central channel (Sanskrit Devanagari: dhūtī, Sanskrit Romanization: dhūtī, Chinese literal meaning: central channel), from the collection of the wind and mind of the clear light of death, the bardo body with the form of hands and feet arises. Here, by mixing the three vital efforts and relying on mudras and other methods, the knots of the channels in the heart are released, etc.

When all the karma winds of the body enter the central channel, and the three states of abiding, holding, and dissolving are performed, it is possible to generate the ultimate example luminosity of the three emptinesses and the fourth, the mind's separation. From that, just as a fish leaps from water, at the same time as reversing and rising, the illusory body made of the third stage of wind and mind is accomplished. Because in the five stages it is said: That very self-nature luminosity, possessing the three consciousnesses, by the grace of my blessing, also arises several times for the benefit of sentient beings. Just as in a clear river, fish leap out quickly, so it is said that the net of illusion arises from all emptiness and clarity. Thus it is said. After the illusory body is accomplished, it is merged with that basis, and one engages in activities with elaboration, without elaboration, and utterly without elaboration. By repeatedly performing the gathering stages of the two meditations, finally the illusory body of the third stage is purified by luminosity, and at the same time as reversing and rising from the fourth stage of the meaning luminosity, the body of union in learning is accomplished. This is the union of abandonment and realization. If one merges again into the meaning luminosity, one will attain the union of realization. On that basis, by practicing the three conducts through the door of learning, one cultivates the wisdom of inseparable bliss and emptiness, and thus one will attain the body of union in learning. Fearing prolixity, I have spoken only this much. Secondly, the method of drawing forth the four joys is taught by Chakrasamvara, Hevajra, and others, so it is necessary to study the related content of Chakrasamvara. This is the intention, divided into the generation stage and the completion stage. In the first, the Chakrasamvara tantra to be studied has many contents such as the root tantra, explanatory tantra, and sadhana. The root tantras are the three hundred thousand verse text, the one hundred thousand verse text, and the short root tantra. The first two have not been translated here, and the latter, the short root tantra of fifty-one chapters, is now widely known. The explanatory tantras are the "Nomenclature," the "Vajra Dakini," the "All Conduct," the "Source of Vows," the "Dakini Union," and the "Manifestation of the Sow," and the similar tantras are the "Manifestation of Heruka," the "Ocean of Dakinis," and the "Union of the Faces of the Four Yoginis." Regarding the contents of sadhana, commentaries, etc., there are Luipa's "Abhisamaya," Ghantapa's "Body Mandala," the Five Stages, Black
