It is unreasonable. If it is said that self-origination is manifestly evident, then, like a sprout, is it existent, non-existent, both existent and non-existent, or neither of the two at the time of its cause? Let us first examine which one is self-origination. If it is the first case, the sprout, as the subject, existing at the time of its cause, it is unreasonable to say it is produced. Because if it exists, it is already established, and once established, there is no need for it to be produced again. If there is a need, it will become endlessly produced. If it is the second case, being non-existent at the time of its cause, it is also unreasonable to say it is self-origination. Because the cause cannot do anything to something that does not exist. It is like a lotus in the sky, which no one can create. As it is said, "Even with hundreds of thousands of causes, one cannot transform something that does not exist." However, one needs to distinguish between a lotus in the sky and a lotus that exists in the sky. Generally, even if it does not exist at the time of its own cause, it can still be produced, which is the way all things arise. However, if self-nature is already established, but it does not exist at the time of its cause, then it will become completely non-existent, therefore the cause cannot produce it, and there are many details. If it is the third case, it is also not produced from both existence and non-existence at the time of its cause. Because in that case, it would fall into the two faults of being harmed by the reasoning mentioned earlier. If it is the fourth case, it is also unreasonable. Because it is impossible for something to exist that is both existent and non-existent at the time of its cause. Therefore, the sprout, as the subject, is not self-originated. Because, as mentioned before, from the four cases of existence, non-existence, etc., it is not self-originated. As it is said in the "Seventy Stanzas on Emptiness", "That which exists does not arise because it exists; that which does not exist does not arise because it does not exist; the two are not two because their natures are contradictory; because there is no arising, there is no abiding or ceasing." This is the reasoning. The second is: "Things do not arise from themselves, nor from others, nor from both, nor from no cause; therefore, there is no self-origination." This is the reasoning from the "Root Wisdom Treatise", such as "Not from self, not from other." External and internal things, as the subject, do not arise from themselves, that is, from the self. If they did arise, it would become a mode of arising that exists at the time of the cause, causing the arising to become meaningless.

If so, that dharma, rebirth would be meaningless, because it has already been established as its own nature. If not pervasive, then it would become endless rebirth, because even though it has been established, it still needs to be reborn. As an example, there are many reasons for the root and subsequent. That dharma, from the cause, does not arise from others in its own essence, because if it arises, then all unrelated causes such as soil, stones, and trees should produce all the results. This is also the essence of the reasoning of being separate from one and many, because it prevents self-generation and shows that the nature is one, and prevents other-generation and shows the fault of the reasoning that the nature is different. It does not arise from both, because the self and others have been prevented from arising one by one. It is not born without cause, because if it is born, then even crows should grow peacock feathers, and for the sake of producing fruits and grains, it is not necessary to establish causes. Thus, all things, dharmas, do not have the nature of being born in their own essence, the reason is that it has been shown before. The third is: Furthermore, all dharmas, when analyzed by one and many, the essence is not specified. It is said that this is in the Ornament of the Middle Way: These things of self and other are truly one, and because they are separate from the things of many, they are without nature, like images. The reason for saying. The types of reasoning are also: All things of inner and outer dharmas, dharmas, are not specified in their own essence, because it is impossible to find one or many in their own essence by reasoning. For example, it is as if the image does not exist as it appears. The aspect of dharma is: it is not one that is established by nature, because it has parts. That dharma, it is not many that are established in this way, because there is no one established there. The pervasiveness is established as: if it is established by nature, then it must be established as one or many in this way, if it exists, then it must be one or many, in the Ornament of the Middle Way: Apart from one and many, things with other forms are impossible, these two, because they exist by abandoning each other. It is said
