One is the very nature of all things. All things are the very nature of one thing. Whoever sees the suchness of one thing, sees the suchness of all things. These statements are similar. In short, here it is said that without the cause of form, form will not become an object of focus. And so on, meaning that without relying on the four elements, the resulting forms do not exist, and without relying on the resulting forms, the causal forms also do not exist, so arising and what will arise are by nature non-existent. In the fifth chapter, in the context of examining the elements, the commentary says that regarding the statements about the characteristics, signs, and existence or non-existence of the elements, if they exist not merely by the power of nominal convention, but by the power of their own essence, then it is not permissible to establish characteristics, signs, and so on, and the meaning must be determined by reason. Then, it is most appropriate to establish characteristics, signs, and existence or non-existence of things merely by the power of nominal convention, and one must ascertain the meaning of the two truths in this way. It is necessary to understand as it is said. In this context, the root text states, "Before the characteristic of space, there is not even a little space." And so on, this arising is said to be applied to the earth element and so on. Therefore, reciting "Before the characteristic of earth," and so on, is a translation. The characteristic of space is the emptiness that obstructs what has obstruction or is of the nature of non-obscuration, and the characteristic of earth is known as solidity and so on. In the sixth chapter, in the context of examining attachment and so on, the conclusion is: Thus, if the three aspects of defilement, such as what is attached, what is attached to, and how it is attached, and the three aspects of purification, such as what is believed, what is believed in, and how it is believed, are apprehended as being established by their own nature, then it is not possible to use those terms, and one must understand as it has been determined by reason. Then, it is necessary to affirm those terms, but since they cannot be established on things that are established by their own nature, it is thought that only emptiness of inherent existence can most reasonably establish those categories, and thus one should correctly lead to the certainty of dependent arising. Reciting "Attachment depends on desire," and so on, is a translation, and one should understand as it is said that it is affirmed in this way. The method of translation is that the root text states, "If desire comes first."

If there is desire without desire, then the arising of such things, if applied to others, if before desire, there is desire without desire, etc., if before hatred, there is hatred without hatred, etc., it should be transformed in this way. In the seventh chapter, when examining the three aspects of birth, place, and destruction, the root verse states: This birth arises from the unborn, etc., because the three aspects of birth, place, and destruction are established in mutual dependence, it is said to be without inherent existence. In the explanation of the general meaning, generally speaking, the factor that produces things is the basis, and its arising is the action that depends on it. When things manifest and arise, the factor on which the agent depends does not exist, but its action of arising exists, and both oneself and others must think so. However, if things are established in the ultimate truth, then the two are the basis and the dependent, which is the nature established by its own essence, so one should never doubt this, because things also exist at that time. Having been established before arising, it is necessary to produce things again, which has been said before. This seems to be a very important principle that appears at the beginning and the end. Also, here, whether it is constant or momentary, there is no existence in the second time from the time of its own establishment, even in name. Therefore, the moment mentioned as the definition of impermanence means that it does not stay in the second time from the time of its own establishment, and it is not enough to understand it only according to the scriptures, this is not the meaning of the moment. Therefore, to complete a year, twelve months must be completed, and after that, that year does not exist, so all constants are moments that do not stay in the second time from the time of their own establishment. For example, the impermanence distinguished by sound does not follow the vase, but impermanence follows both sound and vase. The vase that existed in the previous time does not exist in the later time, but it is not contradictory that the vase exists in both the previous and later times. Therefore, such existence, and all things existing in their own time, and existence like existing on the ground, exist in name, so the existence of inherent nature should be refuted. Also, here, when the new year just begins, even if that year is not completely over, it is considered that that year has been established.
