It is not established merely by reasoning that there is no self-origination, but this treatise explains the meaning stated in all the scriptures that teach self-originationlessness, which is only a slight indication, such as quoting the Noble "Heap of Jewels Sutra." The following should also be understood in the same way. All that is done in this way is because all the activities of samsara and nirvana, such as causes and conditions, are established merely by the power of nominal terms without seeking to examine the meaning. This is merely to understand that meaning does not exist in its own object in a self-established manner. The third is the treatise called "Examination of Conditions," which is the first treatise and its explanation. Secondly, examining the activity of going and coming, refuting the self of the person, is divided into three parts: explaining the meaning of the text, combining it with scripture, and stating the name. The first part is divided into two parts: detailed explanation and conclusion. The first part is divided into four aspects: refuting by examining the action, similarly, for the agent, for the proof of the existence of action, and refuting by examining the essence of the action. The first part is divided into two parts: generally refuting the action on the three paths, and specifically refuting the action of walking. The first part is: generally, when it is said "this person is walking on the road," the agent, that is, the one walking on the road, is one, and the action of the road on which he is walking is also one, not many. There are three paths of walking: the one that has been walked, the one that is being walked, and the one that has not been walked and the action has not been started. Here, for the two, the walked and the unwalked, the action of walking is nominally negated, and there, by combining the object of refutation with the action of walking, it is refuted, because for the walked, the action has ceased, for the unwalked, the action has not arisen, therefore, the action of walking is established for the present. Keeping this in mind, temporarily, one does not walk on the walked path, and walking is not on the unwalked path. Apart from the walked and the unwalked, there will be no action of walking. Thus it is said. This shows the order of temporarily not refuting. Knowable thing, subject. Any walker does not walk on the walked path where the action of walking has ceased, that is, there is no action of walking; and there is no action of walking on the unwalked path where the action of walking has not arisen, because the action of walking is the present. If it is thought that the path being walked has self-nature, that is also not the case, because the path being walked itself

Because of the lack of autonomy. Because if it were not for the cessation of the activity of the part that has been walked by the foot, and the non-arising of the activity of the part that has not been walked, then the path being walked would not be known by valid cognition. Because the foot has many parts, the part pressed by the back of the toe belongs to the category of having been walked, and the front side pressed by the heel belongs to the category of not having been walked. However, it cannot be assumed that there is no path being walked, because the aspect pressed by the part and the whole of the foot can be nominally designated as being walked. If it is not assumed in this way, then it will be impossible to establish what has been walked and what has not been walked in reliance on what. Through this reasoning, it can be known that the three, walked, not walked, and being walked, are established dependently, and thus it can be known that these three are empty of inherent existence. If these are known, then it can be known that the foot that establishes these three paths and the walker who walks by it are also without inherent existence. The second part is divided into two points: the former view and the refutation of it. The first point is: Where there is movement, there is walking. And for what is this walking? Movement is neither walked nor not walked. Therefore, walking exists in being walked. Thus it is said. The opponent thinks: Not only is there the activity of walking on the path being walked, but it also exists in essence. Because wherever there is movement of the body, such as lifting and placing the foot, there is the activity of walking. And the movement exists for the sake of the walker on the path being walked. The movement does not exist on the path that has been walked or not walked as before, therefore it is thought so. The second part is divided into three points: If the object word has meaning, then the meaning of the verb is empty; the opposite of this; if both have meaning, then it is too much. The first point is: How can it be established that walking exists in being walked? Because when there is no walking, walking is not established. Thus it is said. How can it be established that the activity of walking exists on the path being walked from the perspective of its own establishment? This is not established. Because when the activity of walking does not exist in the meaning of the word, the so-called path being walked is not established. Because there is an agent, if the activity of walking exists in essence in the way that it exists in the meaning of the object word of the path being walked, then this activity must not exist in the meaning of the verb walking, but
