If a cause produces an effect, does the effect produce something that inherently exists or does not exist? If the effect inherently exists, then what does the cause produce? Because the essence has already been established, there is no need to produce it again. If the effect inherently does not exist, then what does the cause produce? Because according to your view, there is no difference between something that is inherently non-existent and something that does not exist. The second is: If it is not a producer, The cause is not reasonable. If the cause is not reasonable, Whose effect will it be? So it is said. If it is said that the cause inherently exists, therefore the effect inherently exists. It is not reasonable, because if the cause does not inherently produce the effect, then the cause itself inherently existing is also not reasonable. If the cause itself inherently existing is not reasonable, then the effect inherently existing, whose cause will that be? It must also be unreasonable, because it must be assumed that any effect is of the cause that produces that effect. The third is: Whatever is the collection Of all causes and conditions, If it does not produce itself, How does it produce an effect? Therefore, it is not made by a collection, There is no effect made by non-collection. If the effect does not exist, Where is the collection of conditions? So it is said. If it is said that the cause produces the effect by the collection of conditions, then what is the collection of all causes and conditions, does it produce itself or not? If it is said to produce, then the collection of cause and condition does not produce itself, because producing an effect is meaningless, and doing to oneself is contradictory, and because the collection is not substantial. Because the collection is not substantial, so if it does not produce itself, then the effect is produced by itself, like the son of a barren woman. Therefore, the effect made by the collection of cause and condition is not inherently existent. Our own system is that the collection of cause and condition produces the effect, but the collection is false, so the effect also produces the false, therefore it is not contradictory. There is also no effect made by the non-collection of cause and condition, because that is extremely contradictory. Analyzing with the reason as stated above, then the effect is inherently

Like the mutually contradictory light and darkness. The second is: If arising and destruction do not exist, how can it become existence itself? For things, impermanence itself is never existent. Arising and destruction together, how can it become existence itself? Birth and death at the same time, existence itself is impossible. Thus it is said. Arising, as a thing, if there is no destruction, how can it exist, it is unreasonable. Because it is a thing. Universally speaking, for things, impermanence itself is never non-existent. Arising, as a thing, together with destruction, how can it become self-existence, it is unreasonable. If so, birth and death will also occur at the same time. Therefore, the son is non-existent, because they are mutually contradictory. The third is: Which are together mutually, or not together mutually, the established existence is not existent, how do those established exist? Thus it is said. Which things are together mutually, that is, at the same time, or not together mutually established, self-existence is not existent, those arising and destruction, as things, how does self-established exist, that is, non-existent. If it exists, it must exist in either of the two ways of existence, but it does not actually exist. The second part has three aspects: On the basis of exhaustion and non-exhaustion, negate arising and destruction; on the basis of things, negate them; on the basis of emptiness and non-emptiness, negate them. The first is: In exhaustion, arising does not exist, in non-exhaustion, arising also does not exist. In exhaustion, destruction does not exist, in non-exhaustion, destruction also does not exist. Thus it is said. If arising and destruction are self-established, then where do the two cases of exhaustion of things exist? For the exhaustion of things, that is, the destroyed things, arising, that is, birth, is not self-existent. For non-exhausted things, arising is also not self-existent, because for self-established things, birth and exhaustion cannot exist simultaneously on the same basis. Thing, as a thing, when you are exhausted, destruction is not self-existent, when you are not exhausted, destruction is also not self-non-existent. Because for the self-established exhaustion and non-exhaustion, birth and death are unreasonable. The second is: When things do not exist, arising and destruction also do not exist. When arising and destruction do not exist, things also do not exist. Thus it is said.
