If the earth does not exist, then how could "mine" exist in essence? Because an attribute without a basis is impossible. Secondly, the method of meditation is: For the pacification of self and "mine," the clinging to "I" and the clinging to "mine" will disappear. That which is without "I" and the clinging to "mine," that also does not exist. Without the clinging to "I" and the clinging to "mine," who sees does not see. Thus it is said. For the sake of the near pacification of the characteristics of self and "mine," which are the objects of "I" and the clinging to "I," the yogi abandons the view of self that clings to "I" as being self-established and clings to "mine" as being self-established, and thus becomes non-existent. Because they enter the true meaning of realizing that the objects of clinging of the two views of self do not exist. Those yogis who are without and abandon the clinging to "I" and the clinging to "mine," and those other than them, are also not existent in essence. Because whoever sees the yogi who abandons the clinging to "I" and the clinging to "mine" as existing in essence, that clinging does not see the meaning of Suchness. Thirdly: When the thoughts of self and "mine" cease in both inner and outer, the grasping will cease, and when that ceases, birth ceases. Thus it is said. In this way, because of clinging to self and "mine," when the two views of self, the thoughts of self and "mine," cease in all inner and outer self and "mine," the other four graspings will also cease. Because the root of all afflictions is the view of self, if one can destroy the objects of clinging of these two, one can also abandon the other afflictions. The other four are the four graspings such as desire grasping. When these cease, the birth that arises from them will also cease, because there is no cause for it. Secondly: Liberation comes from the cessation of karma and afflictions. Karma and afflictions arise from conceptual thought, these arise from elaboration, and elaboration ceases through emptiness. Thus it is said. The order of cessation of birth is like this: liberation comes from the cessation of karma and afflictions. Because the cause of birth in samsara is karma, karma arises from afflictions, and afflictions arise from conceptual thought of improper attention. These conceptual thoughts also arise from the elaboration of clinging to various names such as male and female as being true, from the habituation of beginningless time, and from the elaboration of clinging to reality.

Because of being accustomed to viewing those places as emptiness, they will be exhausted and cease, therefore, to place them in liberation. The second aspect has two parts: scriptural statements and refuting contradictions, and the reason why the ultimate truth cannot be expressed. The first aspect is: 'It is also established as self, and also shown as no-self, the Buddhas also said self and no-self, there is not a little.' It is said in the sutras that the Buddhas in some sutra sections also said that self is established, as if showing it. And in some sutra sections, it is also shown that there is no independent self. And in some sutra sections, it is also shown that neither self nor no-self is established by nature. This is in order to prevent those with low intelligence from slandering cause and effect, to ease worldly views, and for the sake of sentient beings who can understand the profound meaning. One explanation is that some, such as the Samkhya school, establish that there is a permanent self, and the Lokayata also shows that there is no self that goes back and forth in future lives. The Buddhas, the Bhagavat, also show that neither self nor no-self is established by nature. The second aspect is: 'What is said is contradictory, because the object of the mind's activity is contradictory. Unborn and unceasing, the nature of reality is equal to nirvana.' It is said in the sutra that from the perspective of the noble one's meditative equipoise, what is said in the ultimate truth is contradictory, because it is not real, so the Buddha did not show anything in the ultimate truth. Because in the ultimate truth, the object of the mind's activity is contradictory. Because in the ultimate truth, the nature of reality, which is unborn and unceasing, is equal to the peaceful nirvana. In the Diamond Sutra and other scriptures, it is said that the Buddha did not teach any dharma, which is said from the perspective of the ultimate truth, and in the conventional truth, it must be admitted that the Buddha taught something. The third aspect is: 'All is true, not true, true, true, not true, not true, not true, not true, this is what the Buddha taught following the world.' It is said in the sutra that if it is not taught in the ultimate truth, then how is it taught? The Buddha, in order to follow the world, first declared that all the vessel and contents of the world established by ignorance are true, are real.
