How does that arising generate the root arising? That is unreasonable. Because according to your view, the arising of arising must be generated by the root arising. If, according to your view, the arising generated by the root generates the root, then how does the arising of arising generate the root that was not previously generated? That is unreasonable, because the root must be generated by the arising of arising. Therefore, this cannot avoid becoming an infinite loop. If it is said that although what was not previously generated does not generate, but these two are arising, therefore they generate each other, that is also unreasonable. If what is not self-generated can generate another that is not generated, then if according to your view, these two that are arising generate each other depends on intention, because what is arising is the future at that time, therefore it cannot generate another. For existence, etc., it should also be applied and refuted as before. The second part has two: stating the removal of faults, and refuting it. The first part is: Just as a lamp illuminates itself and others, arising also generates both its own and others' things. So it is said. They say that just as a lamp has the nature of illuminating, therefore it can illuminate both itself and other things, similarly, arising also has the nature of arising, therefore arising can generate both its own and others' things. The second part has two: refuting the analogy, and refuting the meaning. The first part has two: showing the damage to the commitment, and refuting after showing that the reason is uncertain. The first part is: The lamp and whatever, when it exists, there is no darkness. What does the lamp illuminate? It is the illuminator that eliminates darkness. When the lamp is arising, if it does not encounter darkness, how can the lamp eliminate darkness by arising? Even if it does not encounter the lamp, if it can eliminate darkness, then the darkness that exists in all the worlds will also be eliminated by the lamp that exists here. So it is said. It is unreasonable for the lamp to illuminate itself and others by its nature, because the lamp illuminates by eliminating darkness, and the lamp has no darkness to eliminate, therefore it is not clear itself, and the lamp is close.

Wherever a lamp exists, where light pervades, there is no darkness. If that is the case, in what way does the lamp illuminate itself and others? It is unreasonable to do so. If the power to dispel darkness is done by the lamp as it arises, then how can the lamp dispel darkness as it arises, which is not inherently existent, because when the lamp is arising, it does not meet with darkness in the same time and place. If it is said that this is not pervasive, then all the darkness existing in the world will be dispelled by the lamp existing in this place, because even if the lamp and darkness do not meet, the lamp can dispel darkness. This is pervasive, because when the object to be illuminated and the dispeller are inherently established, they should arise independently of causes and conditions. The second point is: The lamp illuminates itself and others, if it can illuminate, then darkness also obscures itself and others, there is no doubt. If it is said that the lamp can illuminate itself and others, this is also unreasonable, because in that case, darkness will undoubtedly obscure both itself and others. This is pervasive, because the illumination of the lamp and the obscuration of darkness are the same, so darkness does not obscure darkness, and if it obscures, there will be the fault of not being able to see darkness, like a pot. According to our view, the light of the first moment of the lamp and the edge of darkness meet nominally. Similarly, as the lamp gradually arises, the way the edges meet causes the darkness to gradually disappear. In that suitable place, the complete arising of the lamp and the complete disappearance of darkness occur simultaneously. The lamp illuminating itself and darkness obscuring others exist nominally, while the lamp illuminating itself and darkness obscuring itself do not exist nominally. However, when the lamp arises, the lamp appears to be visible, so it needs to be carefully studied. The second point is: If this birth is unborn, how can it give rise to its own nature? If it is already born and can give rise, what need is there for the already born to be born? If birth can give rise to itself, is it born from the unborn or from the already born?
