Before starting to act, when abiding, there is no path of walking that the person will walk, nor is there a path that has already been walked. Because at that time, the nature of these two paths has not arisen. The pervasion is that if there is something that inherently starts to walk, then it must exist before starting to walk. The reason is that the path of starting to walk must be established as existing in its own time. If it is not like that, then one must start walking at all times, therefore there is no situation where one does not start walking. If one thinks like that, it is unreasonable, because one must want to abandon Lhasbyin's abiding and enter into the act of walking. Where is there a start of walking on a path where a person has not walked? Because there is no start of the act of walking there. The second is: All walking has no appearance, what has been walked, what is being walked, what has not been walked, what should be distinguished? Thus it is said. If there are these three paths of having walked, not having walked, and being walked, if there is no walking, then these three are unreasonable, if one says so. This is also unreasonable, when one examines with the intelligence of ultimate analysis, the start of walking is without appearance in all situations, at that time, what has been walked, and what has not been walked, there is no need to distinguish. The reason is that if there is no start of walking, then these three paths of walking cannot be established. The third is: For a while, the walker does not stay, the non-walker is also not a stayer, the walker is the nature of walking, how can a third become a stayer? When walking is not established, the walker is also not reasonable, for a while the walker can stay, how can it become reasonable? Thus it is said. If walking exists because abiding is inherently existent, if one says so. The characteristic of the temporary walker is not inherently abiding, because it will be harmed by the reason to be explained below. The characteristic of the non-walker who is a stayer is not inherently abiding, because one has not been established as a stayer before abiding. The pervasion is that if one abides inherently, then one must abide without relying on the act of abiding, if one relies on the act of abiding to abide, then it is only a nominal abiding, not an inherent abiding. Abiding before abiding

Because it is not a goer. Even if it were established, it would become a constant stayer, therefore the goer and going etc. are not reasonable. Apart from the goer and non-goer, which third one would stay? Because that is impossible. If because the action of returning is not the meaning of the word, the goer will not be established, then how can it be reasonable to say that the goer stays for a while? It is illogical. Fourth, it will not return from walking, nor is it from gone and not gone. Thus it is said. For the two, already gone and not gone, there is no term for returning from the action of going. Because from those two, the action of going has ceased and not arisen. From the one walking, it will not return by its own nature, because if the one walking is established by its nature, then all times will become walking, therefore returning is not reasonable. The reason is that, for the same basis, the forward walking and the backward returning are contradictory. From the path already gone and not gone, the action of going is not returning either, because in order, the action of going has disappeared and not arisen. The second is: going and entering, and returning is also going. Thus it is said. If it is thought that staying exists by its own nature, then staying does not exist by its own nature, because for it and the beginning of entering the going and staying arranged as its proof, and for the returning to staying, the statement of refutation of the prevention of going is the same as before, therefore it can prevent the establishment by essence. How is it the same? For a while, the stayer does not go, thus it is said etc., and there is no beginning of staying in the staying place, thus it is said etc., omitting that, the way of preventing is because of going. Fourth, there are two ways to prevent by examining the nature of the action: denying by examining the one and other of the goer, and examining whether the second exists or not for the action of being a goer. The first is: going and the goer, it cannot be said to be that itself. Going and the goer, it cannot be said to be other itself. If what is going, that is the goer, then the agent and the action, will also become one. If going and the goer, are considered to be other, then the goer does not
