It is said that the so-called "number of five hundred" refers to five hundred sets of five hundred years, meaning that the teachings of the Blessed One will last for five sets of five hundred years. In the Bhadrakalpika Sutra, it says: The true Dharma will last for five hundred years. For five hundred years, there will only be similar Dharma. In the commentary on the Hundred Thousand Verses by Damstrasena, it says that the so-called "end of the last five hundred" refers to the teachings of the Blessed One lasting for five thousand years, with each thousand years divided in half, resulting in ten sets of five hundred years. It is said that in the commentary on the Three Mothers Sutra, attributed to Vasubandhu, it says: The duration of the Tathagata's teachings is said to be five thousand years. Teacher Manjushrikirti also said it was five thousand years. Similarly, in some other sutras, tantras, and commentaries, there are various different or similar statements. Some great Tibetan scholars who followed these statements also have different views. However, most ancient scholars believe that the statements about the teachings lasting for five hundred years and one thousand years, etc., have specific meanings, while the true duration of the teachings is unanimously considered to be five thousand years. Although these inconsistencies arise, their meanings are not contradictory. Saying that it lasts for five hundred years and one thousand years refers to situations where there are more who attain liberation. Two thousand years, etc., refers to situations where there are those who enter the fruition, practice, and study the scriptures. Five thousand years refers to situations where views and practices are basically consistent. Some scholars believe that five hundred years and one thousand years refer to the duration of the teachings of realization, while two thousand years and five thousand years refer to the duration of the teachings of scripture. The Kalachakra teachings state that the duration of the teachings is five thousand one hundred and four years. From the time the Teacher showed the manner of passing away in the Iron Dragon year, according to the Hundred Thousand Verses commentary, in the first of the ten sets of five hundred years, which is the period of fruition, there will be the three fruits of Arhat, Non-Returner, and Stream-Enterer; in the period of practice, there will be the three trainings of wisdom, meditation, and discipline; in the period of scripture, there will be the three pitakas of Abhidharma, Sutra, and Vinaya. In the remaining one five hundred years, there will be those who hold only the appearance without true view, practice, and conduct. Some people think that the periods of scripture and practice are the opposite of the former. So, how many years have passed from the Teacher's Nirvana until now? This

Although there are many different views on this. However, according to the unerring Phukpa tradition, up to the present twelfth Rabjung Wood Bird year, two thousand six hundred and twenty-five years have passed. Third, there are four categories that branch out from these: the basis of the countless and a brief explanation of the categories of year, month, and day; the three countless; the classification of numbers; and the explanation of the classification of names, words, and letters. First, as stated in the Treasury of Knowledge: "One hundred and twenty instants are one tatkshana, sixty tatkshanas are one lava, thirty lavas are one muhurta, thirty muhurtas are one day and night, thirty days and nights are one month, and twelve months are one year." Therefore, the starting basis of time is: one hundred and twenty extremely short instants are one instant. Sixty instants are one tatkshana. Thirty tatkshanas are one lava. Thirty lavas are one muhurta. Thirty muhurtas are one day and night. Thirty days and nights are one month. Twelve months are said to be one year. In the Kalachakra, it is said: the duration of one inhalation and exhalation of an ordinary person is one breath. Six breaths are one water-time. Sixty water-times are one hour. Sixty hours are the measure of one day and night. In reality, it is the time from the sunrise of the previous day to the time before the sunrise of the next day. A tithi (Tibetan: ཚེས་ཞག) day is determined according to the waxing and waning of the moon, divided into fifteen parts. Each tithi (Tibetan: ཚེས་ཞག) day has fifty-nine hours, three water-times, five breaths, and sixteen shares of mountain-sky-mountain. A nakshatra day is the time it takes for the sun to pass through one nakshatra constellation, each nakshatra constellation has one nakshatra month, and each nakshatra month has thirty nakshatra days. Each nakshatra day has sixty hours, fifty-two water-times, four breaths, and one hundred and eighty shares of mountain-sky-mountain, and ten shares of arrow-rope. Six nakshatra months are one movement. Two movements are one year. If we do not distinguish between actual and assumed, we say it is a date year. There are three types of years: day-night year, nakshatra year. There are also three types of months: date month, day month, and nakshatra month. Days can also be combined in the same way. In the absence of intercalary months, the date year is the most important. The determination of intercalary months is based on the nakshatra year, because only the nakshatra year can reach the end point of two movements, while the other two types of years cannot. According to the current calculation method, days are mainly day-night, months are mainly date months, and years are mainly nakshatra years. Second, regarding
