Explaining the twelve deeds of the teacher and the duration of the teachings, along with some related topics. Homage to Guru Manjushri. The incomparable power of the ten strengths, perfectly complete, the unmixed eighteen qualities, shimmering like peacock feathers. The sharp teeth of individual perfect knowledge, possessing the claws of the four fearlessnesses. Proclaiming the great roar of eighty-four thousand aggregates of Dharma, causing the hearts of the tirthika elephants to burst. The unprecedented great lion of speech, to that teacher, I respectfully prostrate. Ultimately, although having reached the ultimate of abandonment and realization. Yet in countless realms, through the emanations of Bodhisattvas. Taking on the burden of accomplishing the deeds of the Buddhas. I pay homage to the eight great close sons. The Buddhas and their sons, outstanding in courage. Skilled in propagating the teachings of the Sage through the manner of Shravakas. The eight supreme Shravakas such as Shariputra, and. The seven patriarchs of the lineage, and all Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas, are praised. The two great chariots prophesied by the Buddhas, and so on. All the wise and accomplished ones of the holy land of India, and. The second Tsongkhapa, father and son, and so on. I pay homage to the successive spiritual friends of Tibet. For the sake of those who seek the meaning of various excellent explanations, desiring the lotus of wisdom to bloom. I will write down various essential fragments of scriptures, in accordance with my own desire to express myself. Therefore, there are three topics to be discussed here: How our teacher demonstrated the twelve deeds, the duration of the teachings, and the various discussions arising from them. The first part is further divided into three points: the classification of kalpas, how the teacher initially generated the mind of enlightenment and accumulated merit in the middle, and how he demonstrated the twelve deeds after attaining Buddhahood. The first point, regarding the initial basis of the form kalpa, is that seven ultimate particles form one atom, similarly, iron particles, water particles, rabbit particles, sheep particles, cow particles, sunlight particles, lice and fleas, and knuckles, are each seven times the previous one, and the latter each one, twenty-four knuckles make one cubit, four cubits make one fathom, five hundred fathoms make one krosa, eight krosas make one yojana, as stated in the Abhidharmakosa: "The limit of form, name, and time, is atom, eye, and kshana."

Extremely minute dust and, minute dust and so on, iron water rabbit sheep cow, sunlight dust and chaff, arising from that and so on, called finger joint measurement gathering, twenty-four fingers are an elbow, four elbows are one bow, those five hundred together, called one krosa, those eight krosa are called one yojana. Thus. Thus, years, months, days, etc., the beginning of the kalpa of time, as said, in one hundred and twenty kshanas, and so on, twelve months are one year. After explaining the beginning like this, many kalpas are explained, the destruction kalpa of hell, from no existence to the end of the vessel, the first wind of the formation kalpa, up to the existence of hell. The intermediate kalpa from immeasurable to, the age of ten years. After that, there is another decreasing kalpa, there are eighteen other kalpas, and there is one increasing kalpa, thus this world is formed, and resides in twenty intermediate kalpas. Formation and destruction, destruction and dwelling are all equal. Those eighty are a great kalpa. Thus, the classification of kalpas is explained. In general, there are two types of kalpas: pure land kalpas and impure land kalpas, but here the main focus is on the classification of impure land kalpas. These are the formation kalpa, the abiding kalpa, the destruction kalpa, the empty kalpa after destruction, and the abiding kalpa is the first decrease from immeasurable life to ten years, then there are eighteen intermediate kalpas of increase and decrease up to eighty thousand years, then finally the first increase up to eighty thousand years, that is, the abiding kalpa has twenty intermediate kalpas, the formation has twenty, the destruction has twenty, the empty kalpa after destruction has twenty intermediate kalpas, thus it is said that the duration of these four is equal. The twenty intermediate kalpas are divided into four groups, giving rise to eighty intermediate kalpas, and the duration of the eighty combined is called one great kalpa, thus it is shown and the meaning is summarized. In general, there are two types of kalpas: bright kalpas and dark kalpas. The kalpa in which the Buddha actually appears and shows his deeds is called a bright kalpa, and the kalpa in which the Buddha's emanation appears but the Buddha does not actually appear is called a dark kalpa. The current kalpa from the Good Kalpa is a bright kalpa, and after that is a dark kalpa.
