May they pacify the drought and yellowing that harm the crops of this place, and increase the grain essence and crops. Thus, entrusting the activity. Finally, after asking for forgiveness and taking leave: Kye! Ten Direction Protectors and so forth, sentient beings, gods, demons, and the eight classes, at this time when you are invited and offered to, please forgive all faults. Please consider with loving hearts, and return to your respective places. From your own places, in this land, perform the activity of protecting and guarding. Vajra Muh! The guests have returned to their respective places. Thus, saying and contemplating. Auspicious words and so on should be said. If it is not possible to accomplish the extensive arrangement of the above, then on the top of Mount Meru, on a wooden board, spreading paper and so on, arrange as many torma as possible. Around it, make only symbolic effigy torma and so on. The method of offering can be done according to any of the above extensive or concise rituals. Although there are many ways of annual rituals, in order to eliminate temporary obstacles and accomplish favorable conditions, offering praise and entrusting in this way seems to be superior to other offering methods. Thus, this is the offering ritual aimed at the general assembly of the eight great worldly classes, specifically for the annual ritual known as "Year Effigy." At the request of the mantra holder Tsewang Rabten of Yosa and a few others, the Shakya monk named Shedrup saw only three old copies, but they were mostly unrelated and incomplete. However, these protectors are not only derived from both Sutra and Tantra and are quite famous, but also revered and offered by other Bonpos, which is considered very special, so it was written in Chone Monastery. The scribe of the printing was Ta Yila Lung Lobsang Dondrup. Mangalam! Here, in addition to the previous, is a brief description of how to make rain and how to protect against hail.

Regarding how to cause rain to fall, the detailed method is: From numerous great scriptures such as the Guhyasamaja Tantra, one draws the mandala of the eight great nagas, and performs sadhana, offerings, and requests. Furthermore, the rituals for causing rain to fall are also explained in texts such as the Vajra Beak and the Great Cloud Sutra, and these should be understood from those texts. Other scattered pith instructions are extremely numerous. If one is able to properly practice the methods for causing rain to fall that are taught in those great scriptures, that would be excellent. However, people nowadays prefer easy methods, so it seems difficult to put them into practice as described in the scriptures. The detailed method for causing rain to fall based on the Compassionate One (Avalokiteśvara) can be understood from its ritual. The condensed method is: One makes 108 pills mixed with various naga medicines, puts them into a vase, and then focusing on this, recites the Compassionate One mantra one hundred thousand times, or however many times one can accomplish. One performs smoke offerings and makes prayers for rain to fall. The vase itself is placed in a spring where nagas reside, and one makes requests to the nagas to cause rain to fall. Here, I will mainly speak about some things that come from the Great Cloud Sutra. During the times of causing rain to fall, it is best to accompany it with offerings. Even if there are no offerings: I prostrate to the Three Jewels! I prostrate and make offerings to the Tathagata Vairochana, possessor of the essence of clouds! I take refuge! Similarly, one can apply this to everything, or summarize it as: I prostrate to the Tathagata who arose from the naga lineage, adorned with clouds! I prostrate to the Tathagata, cloud water holder... I prostrate to the Tathagata, possessor of the glorious splendor of clouds... I prostrate to the Tathagata, arising from great clouds... I prostrate to the Tathagata, the cloud that completely destroys all mandalas of wind... I prostrate to the Tathagata, immeasurable space... I prostrate to the Tathagata, the assembly of the great cloud companions blazing... I prostrate to the Tathagata, the great cloud powerful hero... I prostrate to the Tathagata, adorned with clouds! I make offerings! I take refuge! I pray that you cause abundant rain to fall in Jambudvipa! I prostrate to the Tathagata, great cloud compassionate one... I prostrate to the Tathagata, the great mandala of clouds... I prostrate to the Tathagata, the light of clouds... I prostrate to the Tathagata, great cloud lion.
