If one cannot be liberated from the bonds of the power of single-pointed samadhi, free from suffering, then when the power of the previous samadhi is exhausted, one will die and fall back into the desire realm, and in many rebirths, one will continuously experience various kinds of good and bad consequences. As it is said in the Collected Sayings: "Whoever is with form or without form, transcends suffering and non-suffering, possesses the nature of the bliss of samadhi, and remains unmoved for kalpas, that is not truly liberated, and will fall from that again." It is said. The gods of the upper realms not only do not have conflicts with asuras, etc., but it is also said that there is no manifestation of sleep and unpleasant thoughts. Therefore, they only use the term "abandoned the suffering of sleep and unpleasantness," but it is not completely abandoned. Because there is no manifestation of suffering in their body and mind, it is said in the Dharma Abhidhamma that there are no first two sufferings in the upper realms. If we summarize the meaning from the perspective of jointly showing the suffering of gods and humans, then, as mentioned above, the main beings of samsara, gods and humans, will also be carried by the flood of suffering such as birth, old age, sickness, and death into the ocean of existence. Therefore, how can one be attached to the happiness of existence? One should not be attached, but because attachment to desire blinds the eye of wisdom, clinging to suffering as happiness, and my mind is blinded by the inverted and confused wrong views, I pray that you save me from the flood of samsara, that is, the great ocean! That is its meaning. "Gods and humans also" means not only the evil realms and asuras. "Craving" refers to desire craving. There are three types of craving: desire craving, existence craving, and non-existence craving, but here it refers to desire craving, because the current situation is that beings like us cling to the truth of suffering as supreme happiness, and this kind of attachment is called desire craving. The detailed method of remembering the suffering of the six realms is explained in the Mindfulness Sutra. Second, from "sinking in the mud of desire, deviating from the path of liberation" to "wanting to enter, but the body cannot move forward" is said because of attachment to contaminated objects.

Having sunk into the swamp of desire, I have strayed from the path of liberation onto a different, wrong path. Having entered the thick darkness of ignorance, I am separated from the eye of wisdom. Having fallen into the midst of the proliferation of thoughts of self-grasping, I am bound within the confines of the prison of samsara. Tormented by the power of karma, suffering, I am a being to be held by the compassion of you, the protector. Sinking is a synonym for falling. For example, like falling into a swamp, attachment to desire is similar. Just as one cannot see in thick darkness, if one has great ignorance, one lacks the wisdom to discern what to accept and reject. Although proliferation is generally extensive, when connected with taking rebirth, if one does not abandon the thoughts of self-grasping, one will be born in samsara. Suffering the results of bad karma is applied sequentially. An example of a box is a container like the one known as "སྒ་ོམང་". An example of a prison is the place where criminals enter. Therefore, writing Dharma practices as being for the dead is a textual error. If the meanings of "ignorance" and "proliferation" are said to be the same, wouldn't that be redundant? There is no fault, because although both grasping at the self of persons and the self of phenomena are ignorance, the meaning indicated by "proliferation" is different from that. "Ignorance" generally refers to delusion, which can be expressed with the terms delusion and ignorance, and I think it is better to do so, because the meaning is conveyed by "separated from the eye of wisdom." As previously explained, in order to prevent the terrifying abyss of samsara, one must rely on the immaculate scriptures, and through hearing, in the manner of proper attention, use the power of pure reasoning to distinguish the definitive and interpretable meanings of the boundless words of the Buddha, and one must necessarily attain the status of a wise person who does not rely on others. If one cannot attain that, then what need is there to say about fully understanding the subtle points of the Buddha's thought that are difficult to understand! This passage shows that one must hear extensively. Some people think that hearing a little is enough. This illustrates many of Je Rinpoche's views.
