After entering the monastery, I took vows three times. In winter, when the lineages went to Ganden, I also took a vow in Ganden. In the first month of the Pig year, the Gyuto people went to Drepung and stayed there for a few days. When I took a vow in Drepung, many intelligent debaters came from Gomang, which was amazing. During those vows, although I won many times, I did not praise myself. At that time, I also taught some about line drawing. Then, I went to Kyormolung to study Tantra, intending to take a vow, but before that, I told a friend in Sera that if someone taught me, I would go back to my hometown, so see if it was okay. In response, he said that if I went, someone would teach me. Therefore, I went back to Sera and prepared to go back to my hometown, but because I still wanted to listen to some Dharma for two or three years, I thought of going to Gyuto. However, because the time had come to be a Khangtsen teacher, if I avoided it, I would have to be a teacher wherever I went, except for going back to my hometown, because there was such a rule. Although I didn't want to be a teacher at all, there was no other way, so the idea of going back to my hometown arose. At that time, I consulted with the Gyuto Lama, Khenpo, great scholar Trichen Lobsang Dargye, and he said not to go back to my hometown, but to stay here and become a great Lama. But I said with a smile that if closing the door meant being a Lama, then I would be like the Lama Anyen Gokar here, so I didn't need it. He didn't listen and allowed me to go. When I was in Sera, both before and after being named, some friends said, "Please take charge of the accounts," and were very insistent, but because I wanted to go back to my hometown, I didn't agree. How I listened to the Dharma in U-Tsang will be explained together below. When I stayed in Sera, in order to raise some living expenses, I went to Lhasa to do business. Whether I won or lost, I bought things and circumambulated the Jowo Rinpoche, went before him to make some prostrations, offerings, and prayers, and then returned to the monastery. Other than that, I didn't go to pilgrimage sites like some others, so my sins were small. Then, the monk Lodro Gyatso asked the merchant Gedun

At the urging of Ra-gya, he himself undertook the expenses for mules and horses, and together with the spring merchants of the Pig year, arrived at the seaside on the fifteenth of April. Although I heard that my former novice had no belongings, because I had relied on him to go to Ü-Tsang, in order to repay his kindness, I went to him and accumulated offerings from some monastic rituals for about six months, bought mules and horses, and in October, both of us returned to our homeland. After meeting my parents, my father passed away the following year, and I performed virtuous deeds. After that, I thought of becoming a hermit who could perform monastic rituals separately, but my mother did not help, so it did not happen. Then, my mother strongly urged me to become a hermit and stay nearby, so I agreed, and in the tenth month of the Snake year, I took up my own duties at Chone Monastery. With the intention of benefiting others, I carved a collection of the names of many Buddhas, printed them, and offered them to all the monks, and also made offerings of butter and so on. Although I had no intention of going to mainland China, some friends strongly urged me to go to mainland China in two or three years. When I told my mother about this, she strongly opposed it and strictly forbade me to go. After that, in the spring of the Horse year, I had the intention of building a house like a hermitage. It happened that the lord of the Chone teachings, Kou-shi Nangso Yeshe himself went to the capital to meet the emperor. The emperor and many great lamas said to Yeshe, 'You should establish a philosophical college in your own monastery.' Yeshe agreed and returned to his homeland. On the seventh day of the Saga month of the Wood Horse year, when the philosophical college was being established, I was ordered to be the lama of the college. I had a good dream, and I agreed without asking for permission. On the sixth day of the Saga month, when I went to the monastery, I examined the auspicious signs. Initially, when I left the house, the auspicious signs were good. In particular, when I arrived here, as I entered the main gate, there was an auspicious sign of walking together with two buckets of water, so I thought it might be good. Moreover, on the seventh day, when I first went to the Dharma college, I examined the auspicious signs, and that was also good. After that, classes were scheduled day by day, and it continued for three years.
