Yes, because it only arises in that category. Afflictions such as jealousy, stinginess, regret, anger, concealment, etc., which are close to the self-nature of affliction, are the objects of consciousness, for that reason. Other fundamental afflictions such as greed, hatred, etc., and near afflictions such as shamelessness, lack of shame, dullness, agitation, recklessness, laziness, and disbelief, are the basis of the six consciousnesses, because they are the afflictions that arise in the retinue of those. Second, the reason why fundamental afflictions correspond to what kind of feeling, and near afflictions correspond to what kind of feeling. First, the reason why the desire realm and the upper realm correspond to each other. The first is: pleasure and so on with desire, corresponding hatred is the opposite. Ignorance and so on with everything, nihilistic happiness and suffering, unhappiness and doubt also. Other happiness and desire-born, equanimity and all are said to be so. The fundamental afflictions of the desire realm and feelings such as happiness and suffering, etc., correspond to what kind of reason, desire is associated with the happiness of body and mind and so on. Hatred is the opposite of this, the suffering of body and mind and the happiness of the mind, etc., ignorance and so on are all feelings of happiness, suffering, and equanimity, nihilism is the happiness and suffering of the mind, doubt is the unhappiness of the mind, and other fundamental afflictions, the other four views and pride, are associated with their own companions' happiness. These dharmas have the reason for being born in which realm, because they are born from the desire realm. In particular, all ten subtle feelings of equanimity go separately with each other, because the objects are not clear, so those who go together do not contradict each other. The second is: the upper realm, as it is in its place, each with, as it is said. The subtle ones of the upper realm formless realm and so on, the root of the feeling in which place is the same as in its place, corresponding to the feeling of each companion, because in the first dhyana there is the desire for happiness of the consciousness of the three of eye, ear, and body, and above that, most of the afflicted ones and the feeling of equanimity correspond. The second is: regret and jealousy, anger and, annoyance, resentment and, deceitfulness, unhappiness and, stinginess, etc. are the opposite. Cunning and deceit and concealment
