The four of not seeing, etc., saying the four of seeing, etc., these eight are false speech. Those saying as true of the two fours, these eight are meaningful, therefore here the former acts according to what is appropriate. There are differences in seeing, etc., that is, what is seen by the eye, heard by the ear, known by the consciousness of the mind, and experienced by the consciousness of the three of nose, tongue, and body, the understanding of those is explained in order. The second is divisive speech, divisive speech is to distinguish others, it is the language of a mind with afflictions. The path of action of divisive speech, the essence exists, in order to distinguish others' harmony, the non-deceptive afflicted speech, whatever is the path of action is that. The third is, harsh speech is unpleasant. The path of action of harsh speech, the essence exists, the non-deceptive afflicted speech speaks unpleasant words, the meaning of which is the path of action understood by others is that. Such a person must speak for the sake of not benefiting others, as it is said in the 'Collected Works of Gampopa': "For the sake of not benefiting others." Speaking with altruistic intention is not afflicted. The fourth is, all afflictions are idle talk, others are other afflictions besides that, such as flattery, singing and dancing, etc., like bad treatises. The path of action of idle talk, the essence exists, all words spoken with an afflicted mind are that. Other schools say, the essence of that exists, the afflicted speech other than the three of falsehood, etc., is the reason for that. If divided, there are many kinds, flattering in order to gain respect, singing, dancing, and laughing with attachment, etc., three or four kinds, like reciting bad treatises of outsiders. Third, among the three of greed, malice, and wrong view, the first is, greed is, with wrong view, being attached to the wealth of others. The path of action of greed, the essence exists, the path of action of being attached to the wealth of others with wrong view is that. The second is, malice is hating sentient beings. The path of action of malice, the essence exists, hating sentient beings with anger.

Because that is the path of action that intends to harm others. Third, (it is divided into) two: the main topic and the subsidiary. The first is: The view that there is no virtue or non-virtue, this is called wrong view. The path of action of wrong view has a nature, namely, the defiled wisdom that denigrates any phenomenon, represented by thinking that there is no virtue or non-virtue. If we classify this, there are many types, such as denigrating noble beings, the stages and paths, the next world, and thinking that the world was created by Ishvara, Brahma, etc. The second (subsidiary) is divided into two, the first is: Regarding this, it is said in "The Three Paths and Seven Branches are also Actions," the three mental (actions) such as covetousness are Dharmas, they are paths of action, because they have the function of causing oneself and the corresponding consciousness to waver towards the object, because your power causes the consciousness to act now. The seven actions of body and speech are Dharmas, not only are they paths of action, but they are also actions, because the mind that arouses you proceeds based on you, so it is a path of action, and from the perspective of its nature, it is also an action. The seven paths of action of body and speech are pervaded by the actual conduct, because their seven actions are performed for the sake of the path of action, so the path of action is incomplete. The final seven actions transcend the path of action. Second, (it is divided into) two: the way of cutting off and the way of connecting. The first is: Cutting off the root by viewing as non-existent, those belonging to the desire realm, obtained from birth, are cut off by denigrating cause and effect, all (roots of virtue) gradually in humans, are cut off by men and women. That view and conduct are not possessed. It is said thus. The knowable is a Dharma, there is a situation where the root of virtue is cut off by non-virtue, because it is cut off by the wrong view that denies cause and effect, etc. What is cut off? What is cut off are the roots of virtue belonging to the desire realm, obtained from birth, but the higher roots of virtue are not cut off. This is also not because it is not cut off by focusing on the unconditioned, because even if one focuses on all conditioned and unconditioned, it will be cut off. Therefore, one cannot connect "all" with "all wrong views." The way of cutting off is not cutting off all at once, but gradually cutting off the small, medium, and large (roots of virtue). Not in other realms, but men and women born among humans
