In brief, the two ends, earlier and later, are cause and effect respectively. The reason for expanding the intermediate cause and effect is to be able to infer the expansion of the earlier and later causes and effects as well. The third part includes the substance and the difference between cause and effect. First, the way of cyclic existence is: From afflictions, afflictions arise; from that, actions; from that, basis; from that, basis and afflictions arise. This is said to be the system of the limbs of existence. Know that there is no fault of losing the certainty of the number of twelve limbs because ignorance is the cause and aging and death are the result. Because from the affliction of craving, afflictions are taken; from that, action itself, that is, existence, and from ignorance, action, that is, formation; from that, basis, consciousness, and from existence, basis, birth; from that, basis, name and form, etc.; from basis, birth, basis, aging and death; from basis, feeling, afflictions, existence, birth, etc. Because this is explained as showing the system of the arising of the limbs of existence. The second point is: Here, arising is the cause, and occurring is considered the result. Therefore, there is a difference between cause and effect. Because in this case, arising is considered as the dependent arising of the cause, and occurring is considered as the dependent arising of the result. The Vaibhashika school believes that the twelve limbs are not temporary, but are established separately. Ignorance is covered by the mental factor of not knowing dependent arising, and formation is the karma of the three doors of body, speech, and mind produced by ignorance, which is either form or non-form. Consciousness is the consciousness that connects to the next life, and name and form are the four aggregates from the second moment after consciousness connects to the next life up to the six sense sources. The six sense sources are the real or imputed six sense sources of the eye, etc. Contact is the mental factor that arises from the combination of object, sense power, and consciousness, and then severs the body. Feeling is the mental factor that cherishes as if severed by contact. Craving is the mental factor of craving for objects, whether separable or inseparable, due to feeling. Grasping is the desire for those objects due to the power of craving. Existence is the karma that is nourished by grasping and will definitely accomplish the next existence. Birth

Therefore, due to the power of existence, the aggregates that connect consciousness are formed, and aging in old age is due to the power of birth, causing the aggregates to reach a state of decay. Death is when sentient beings abandon their similar kind in this life. Secondly, according to the Sautrāntika school, there are two aspects: the nature of dependent origination and the explanation that relies on the remainder. The first aspect includes the four dependent origination factors of ignorance, name, contact, and feeling. The first is: Other phenomena that are contrary to wisdom, like ignorance, unfriendliness, falsehood, etc. If actions and other terms are used, it is not because of inferior wisdom, but because of views. Because views are associated with it, it is taught as afflictive wisdom. Thus it is said. Ignorance, as a phenomenon, has its own characteristic, which is the mental factor of delusion that directly contradicts wisdom and the grasping of wisdom. Why? Ignorance is not established merely as an affliction that prevents wisdom, but must be established as another phenomenon that is the opposite and contrary to wisdom. For example, the opposite of a friend is an enemy, and the opposite of truth is falsehood, which are established as different phenomena. Furthermore, the negation "non-" in "ignorance" is a negative term that indicates the opposite and different phenomena, as previously explained. In the sutras, ignorance is indicated by terms such as co-emergent, bondage, and latent tendencies, so merely preventing wisdom cannot be those things. If it is said that ignorance is inferior wisdom, that is also unreasonable, because it is a view. It is pervasive because views are said to be associated with that ignorance, and views, afflictive wisdom, and ignorance are shown to be afflictions and the cause of afflictions. Secondly, explaining name: Name is the non-form aggregate. Thus it is said. The dependent origination of name, you have a nature, which is the four non-form aggregates such as feeling and perception, which are gathered as appropriate. These four aggregates, although not the real name, have a reason for being called that way, because the Sanskrit word for name is Nāma, which means to incline. You, through the power of authority, meaning, and name, incline to grasp that and that object, so it is said that way. Thirdly
