Because this is the order of becoming... It is necessary to understand that form is like a container, feeling is like food, perception is like a cook, volition is like a chef, and consciousness is like an enjoyer. This is also because, through metaphors such as external containers, one can ascertain the internal meanings and boundaries as they are. Because, just as a container relies on food, form relies on feeling; just as food is to be enjoyed, feeling is enjoyed by consciousness; just as a cook, that is, seasoning, makes food delicious, perception understands the names of pleasure and pain; just as a skilled cook serves food, volition causes pleasure and pain to arise in consciousness; just as a person enjoys food, consciousness enjoys pleasure and pain. There is another necessity: the desire realm is distinguished by enjoying the five objects of desire that are form, the four dhyanas distinguish the form realm by enjoying feeling, the first three formless realms are distinguished by perception, the peak of existence is distinguished by volition, and consciousness is all-pervasive, so it is necessary to understand their similarities. Second, 'For the sake of the present meaning, the five faculties; for the sake of the meaning transformed from arising, four; others are for entering very far and quickly; or according to the order of how they exist.' Thus it is said. The necessity of first stating the five faculties and then explaining the mind is that, firstly, the five faculties only enter for the sake of the present meaning, while the mind will enter into the three times of past, present, and future. Among the five faculties, the necessity of later explaining the karma faculty is that, because the previous four faculties are only objects of the meaning transformed from arising, while the body faculty is the object of both arising and what will arise. Among the eyes and ears, the reason for first stating the eyes is that the eye faculty can quickly enter very distant places, while the ear cannot hear sounds that far away. Among the nose and tongue, the reason for first stating the nose is that before the tongue tastes the flavor, the nose can quickly enter the object of smell. Not only is this the order, but there are other reasons or necessities, or this is also the order according to how the faculties rely on the body. Third, for distinguishing meaning and main, for many dharmas and supreme
