The so-called "realm" is the cause or type that produces fruit, just like a seed, so it is said that way. As it is said in the "Self-Commentary": "The meaning of type is the meaning of realm." Second, some people think that if it is form, then it must be the aggregate of form. Because external form is not pervasive. The reason is that even atoms are the aggregate of form here. Because it is not assembled by causes and conditions. If it is not established, then it must not be produced by causes and conditions. Because it is not established. If you admit it, then it becomes an unconditioned dharma. If you admit it, then the non-consciousness form dharma must be like that. Because that is the dharma realm and its birthplace. In addition, in this Vaibhashika school, atoms must also have the meaning of aggregates. As it is said in "Gampopa": "Even a single atom is called an aggregate." In addition, it must be like that. Because the Vaibhashikas think that it has the meaning of aggregates, while the Sutrantikas think that it does not have the meaning of accumulation. Some people think that aggregates must be substantially existent. Because each aggregate is substantially existent. Because the teacher also thinks that each aggregate is substantially existent. If you admit it, then it must not be. Because it is nominally existent. Because the Vaibhashikas think it is substantially existent, while the teacher and the Sutrantikas think that only the totality of aggregates is nominally existent. Second, the necessity of explaining the three dharmas and dispelling doubts. The first is: For the sake of the three of ignorance, freedom, and desire, the three of aggregates, etc. are explained. Just like what is said. Explaining the three dharmas of aggregates, etc., that is, realms and sources, is necessary. Because it is to dispel the three ignorances, follow the sharp, medium, and dull of the three roots of faith, etc., and for the sake of the three desires, that is, the broad, medium, and concise words. First of all, it is established that in order to dispel the attachment to the whole or one of mind and mental factors, the five aggregates are explained. In order to dispel the attachment to the whole of form, the twelve sources are explained. In order to dispel the attachment to the whole of both form and mind, the eighteen realms are explained. Saying it like that.

English

It can dispel three kinds of ignorance, that is, in the case of the five aggregates, it divides into three aggregates of mental factors; in the case of the twelve sources, it divides into ten forms; in the case of the eighteen realms, it says ten forms and seven realms of consciousness, therefore it can dispel those ignorances. The latter two roots and arguments are established, that is, for those with sharp faculties, it is briefly explained at the beginning, and the five aggregates are shown with concise words; explaining in a slightly विस्तृत way, for those with medium faculties, the twelve sources are shown in a way that the words are neither too विस्तृत nor too concise; for those with dull faculties, in order to satisfy their desire for both words and meanings to be विस्तृत, the eighteen realms are shown, therefore it is for the purpose of guiding sentient beings with three kinds of desires. The second is: It becomes the root of disputes, and the cause of samsara and the sequential cause. From mental factors, feeling and, cognition are separately established as aggregates. Not aggregated in the aggregates, because it is meaningless, so it is not said. Thus it is said. Knowable dharma, there is a reason to separately establish feeling and cognition from mental factors as aggregates, because the twelve kinds of contaminated feelings are the root of disputes, the cause of wandering in samsara, and are coarser than other afflictions, and are the sequential cause of those afflictions. Unconditioned dharma, it is not explained in the aggregates, because it cannot become the meaning of not gathering causes and conditions. Not said, means that the World Honored One did not say, not that the teacher himself did not say, because here it is to explain the reasons and necessities shown by the Abhidharma Pitaka spoken by the Buddha. The third is the order, divided into the order of the aggregates, the order of the sources and realms, and three incidental ones. The first is: The order is coarse and completely defiled, The meaning realms of the vessel etc. are thus. Thus it is said. Knowable dharma, the order of the five aggregates is to first show the coarse and then show the subtle, because the five aggregates such as form are coarser and coarser, and the latter are more and more subtle. There is a reason for arranging the order in this way, because first seeing form gives rise to afflictions, then feeling arises and one desires happiness, then inverted cognition arises, from this one creates the karma of action, and due to its power, the consciousness is completely defiled.
