From the feeling arising from the contact of the eye aggregate as a condition to the feeling arising from the contact of the mind aggregate as a condition, there are six. Each of these is divided into three: pleasure, pain, and neutral, making eighteen. If condensed, they can be grouped into two: the feelings of the eye, ear, nose, tongue, and body are bodily feelings, while the feelings of the mind consciousness cycle are mental feelings. Although the general feeling of the body is referred to as bodily feeling, the four feelings of the consciousness cycle of the eye, ear, nose, and tongue are specific bodily feelings, because the four, eye and so on, are parts of the body. What experiences? Feeling experiences. What is experienced? The change of the object, that is, the actual or imputed result of maturation is experienced. How is it experienced? It is experienced in the nature of joy, suffering, and neutrality. This is to be combined with the three aspects of agent, action, and object. However, what is experienced is very difficult, so some Indian and Tibetan scholars say that contact is experienced. Others say that if it is the object of feeling, then it must be consciousness. Some say that experiencing the taste of good food, and the object of experience like prior perception, also has form, because the former's object of experience is taste, and the latter's object of experience also has a blue part. These seem to require investigation. Because feeling is said to experience the three realms of joy, suffering, and neutrality through the three of pleasure, pain, and equanimity, it must also be accepted that the three of pleasure, pain, and neutrality are also experienced. In that case, it seems necessary to accept that there are three of pleasure, pain, and neutrality for the object of experience, and also three of pleasure, pain, and neutrality for the subject of experience, because feeling arises in the nature of experience and has its object of experience, but it is not permissible to say that feeling experiences feeling. The third is the aggregate of perception, which refers to the mental factors that apprehend the characteristics or features of their own objects without mixing them. If divided, there are six from the perception arising from the contact of the eye aggregate to the perception arising from the contact of the mind aggregate, and two types of perception: with conceptualization and without conceptualization. Perceptions that become sense consciousnesses are without conceptualization, and perceptions that become part of the mind consciousness cycle are mainly with conceptualization. However, mind consciousness also has non-conceptual perception, such as most children's perceptions, and the perception of the signless.

Entering the realm of space, as well as the consciousnesses of entering the peak of existence, non-perception, and cessation, are all non-conceptual consciousnesses. Those only have consciousness, but do not distinguish "this is what," so they are regarded as non-conceptual consciousnesses. In the consciousness of a young child, there are also conceptual consciousnesses such as "these are my parents." Because they are not good at expressing themselves, the consciousnesses that cannot determine "this is what, that is what" are regarded as signless and non-conceptual consciousnesses. Furthermore, the consciousnesses of the desire realm are small-scale consciousnesses, the consciousnesses of the form realm are large-scale consciousnesses, and the consciousnesses of the first two formless realms are limitless consciousnesses. In short, whether it is what is seen by the eye, heard by the ear, smelled by the nose, tasted by the tongue, touched by the body, or thought by the mind, grasping the characteristics of things, distinguishing "this is what, that is what," and assigning names to mental factors all belong to consciousness. Fourth, the aggregate of formation refers to all formations other than the four aggregates of form, feeling, perception, and consciousness. It is divided into associated formations and non-associated formations. Known formations are associated formations, and unknown formations are non-associated formations. There are forty-nine associated formations, which are the forty-nine out of the fifty-one mental factors, excluding feeling and perception. Feeling and perception are listed separately from the forty-nine because they are the root of disputes and have various characteristics such as the cause of cyclic existence. Feeling gives rise to the three poisons of attachment, aversion, and ignorance due to pleasure, pain, and indifference. Perception becomes inverted and leads to rebirth in cyclic existence. So, what are the fifty-two mental factors? Feeling, perception, volition, contact, and attention are the five omnipresent ones. Feeling and perception have already been explained. Volition refers to the mental factor that causes the mind to move on objects such as good and non-good. Contact refers to the mental factor that, relying on the aggregation of object, sense faculty, and consciousness, completely determines the nature of the object. Attention refers to a mental factor that determines the direction of the mind, namely proper attention and improper atten
